Typical V:tM players.

A defunct vampire-themed "Gothic Horror" roleplaying game. Which might be entertaining IF it actually had any "Gothic Horror" in it. Unfortunately, due to the average neckbeard's emotional immaturity, the game tone usually ends up as either an angsty angsty BAAAAAWfest or "Snatch, but with Fangs," depending on the players.

[edit] The story in a nutshell

Once upon a time, there were Caine and Abel. Caine got angry that Abel was favored by God, and slew him. God punished him by making him immortal and cursing whoever would strike against him. Caine roamed about, met Lilith, the two got it on, then Caine learned lots of vampire powers. He then made several other people into vampires. They all eventually died, but they made their own vampires, called Antediluvians.

Then a lot of crazy tl;dr metaplot, dealing with metaphysical wankery and the role of the predator as the king among cattle occurs. tl;dr, two main factions of Vampires spring up. The Camarilla wants to hide from humanity, secretly ruling it. The Sabbat wants to openly rule it. The Camarilla officially deny the existance of Antediluvians, while the Sabbat fear the Camarilla are unwitting servants. There are other independent vampire factions and many other weirder groups (Inconnu, etc), but go to the White Wolf Wiki if you care about that.

[edit] The Vampire Clans

Each Antediluvian made vampires of their own. These tended to carry curses put on them by Caine, for the lulz. Also note that it is possible for clan members to join the Camarilla, Sabbat, or go independent. Not all Brujah follow the Camarilla, as an example.

  • Assamites: Independents. Assassins who hunt other vampires for blood...this can be rather addictive.
  • Brujah: Mainly Camarilla. Thugs, anarchists, revolutionaries, and other beatdown vampires.
  • Followers of Set: Independents, believe that Set was the progenitor of the Kindred. Very insidious, spreading corruption and decay throughout slums. Planning to reawaken their Antediluvian.
  • Gangrel: Once Camarilla, mostly independent. "Nature" vampires, with many shapeshifting/animal control powers.
  • Giovanni: Independent. The Vampire Mafia, dealing in vice, corruption, and trafficking with souls.
  • Lasombra: Mainly Sabbat. Rivals to the Ventrue, with powers related to darkess and shadow. Cannot see their reflections.
  • Malkavian: Mainly Camarilla. Seers/prophets, generally cursed with insanity. The term Fishmalk comes from people who played them as comical lunatics.
  • Nosferatu: Mainly Camarilla. Hideous freakshow Vampires, lurking in the sewers.
  • Ravnos: Mainly independent. Gypsy Vampires; instead of frenzy, they have urges to commit a crime of choice.
  • Tremere: Mainly Camarilla. Warlock vampires; were once formerly a house of the Order of Hermes.
  • Toreador: Mainly Camarilla. Pretentious artfag vampires.
  • Tzmisce: Mainly Sabbat. "Artist" vampires, who define art as fleshmolding hapless mortals/humans/themselves into Moreau-esque nightmares.
  • Ventrue: Mainly Camarilla. Rich, Ralph-Lauren wearing vampires.
