statistics of Nexus

  • Population: Just under a million people

characters and groups of note:

  • The Guild - Currently bankrupt/a non-entitty
  • The Emissary of Nexus - defacto leader/instrument of power of Nexus, enforcer of policy, nominal ally to the Troubleshooters. (Loves the tea)
  • The Council of Entities - Ruling body of Nexus - [Secret]
  • School of Philosophy - Knows of Ronen as a Celebrity
  • University of Nexus - sees the PCs now as Che Guevara.
  • Various Mercenary Groups - Most of them like the Troubleshooters; they're sticking around Nexus killing things that would kill their families. So they *can go abroad and do their jobs without worry.

Districts of Nexus

  • Nexus District - Still holding steadfast to original leadership under the Council, popular control lies with the Troubleshooters.
  • Nighthammer District - Base of Operations of the Troubleshooters, the populace loves them.
  • Cinnabar District - Under Troubleshooters control due to Ronen's Mother
  • Firewander District - Mostly uncontrolled due to wyld taint and potential raksha incursion
  • Bastion District - Troubleshooters hold popular support
  • Sentinel's Hill - (Former) Seat of Immaculate worship, currently adores Ronen and by extension, the Troubleshooters.

Facilities and Assets the players control In Nexus

  • Teahouse: Serves as base of operation + spy den for Sasuke and the Troubleshooters
  • Clinic: Across the street from the Tea house, Crystal's crew has refurbished it into a clinic. Aside from Triumph, it is entirely mundane. It also lacks employees
  • School: hasn't been built yet, only planned OOC
  • Dojo: throwaway comment by Ami
  • Supply Contracts: A steady trickle of jade and orichalcum, along with a smattering of low-level exotic materials, for one dot and rare two dot artifacts. (In essence, two one-dot ingredients and 1 two-dot ingredient every month)


Note about artifacts: As per MoEP: Dragonblooded, the Players may, with sufficent Resources or other means of acqusition, purchase artifacts.

Sasuke Gear

  • Improved Mask: Attune 4m, adds 4 dice to manipulation-based rolls to decieve onlookers, and 4 dice to larceny rolls when making a disguise. If making a social roll based on Perception, you may spend 1m to add 1 dice to that pool. Limit 1 die per roll.
  • Improved Silken Armor: Attune 2m, +5L/+3B soak, Mobility -1*, Fatiuge 0. *Attunement removes mobility penalty. When attuned, the bearer may reflexively change the color of the armor, granting a 1 extra dice on a stealth roll.

But what does this all mean? I'm glad you asked! This in essence means you have a degree of control and direction in a Magnitude 7 organization of Heroic Mortals, Dragonblooded, and other Exalted you are not aware of. Their reach is far and deep within the Scavenger Lands, and while you may enjoy positions of influence in their operations, you are NOT their leaders.

In Game Terms:

Sasuke serves as [Your Rating] in the following backgrounds: Contacts, Spies, Backing, Arsenal

  • Contacts: Roll Backing [Your Rating] to find minor contacts, or proceed to a known location where a Major Contact Sasuke can be found. (Your teahouse, for example.) Major Contacts can only tell you about their own local sphere of knowledge. Like 'Nexus' or 'The Realm'. But, they are very knowledgeable. Minor contacts, on the other hand, can serve to point out more immediate but not necessarily relevant information. Like a mercenary company in nexus is hiring. Interesting, but possibly not useful.
  • Spies: Sasuke in general pretty much knows everything 'current' in the Scavenger lands: who's rich, who's poor. General state of Lookshy, Nexus, Great Forks, etc. The depth of information Sasuke can provide is intrinsically linked to how well the players manage the group, and/or supply them with resources. Give Sasuke money, Sasuke can tell you more things over a wider area due to having more agents.
  • Backing: The Players may request up to [Your Rating] -1 in background dots per storyteller approval. Note that these granted backgrounds are flimsy, and require In-Character play to ensure they remain stable. Until the Storyteller has been satisfied that you've stabilized a backing-granted background, you won't be able to buy plot armor for them. For sake of clarity, Mark on your sheet where you got a background from. Backgrounds include Allies, Followers, contacts (that aren't Sasuke), Artifacts, and other backgrounds.
  • Arsenal: Tools and equipment, if necessary, and assuming Sasuke (and Storyteller) find it prudent, will be provided by Sasuke to the Players as a group. After the completion of the objective, the tools and equipment must be returned.
  • Arsenal Gear currently loaned out: As you can see, that hasn't come up yet.

Players are by all means encouraged to develop their own backgrounds and resources outside of Sasuke.

Mentor: Saibok Gauto

All players, regardless of their affiliation with Sasuke or otherwise, have Mentor 1* regarding Saibok Gauto. This rating, so marked by *, fluctuates wildly due to his old age and senility. In essence, he may serve as a Legendary Mentor one moment, and a one dot mentor the next.

Allies: Discreet Lookshyan Commander

Ronen and Corva have a tenuous, very informal connection to a Lookshyan military commander. He has not called on their services yet, and they haven't imposed upon him at all either... But the connection still exists.

Followers: Courtesans

The Troubleshooters as a group have Three Essence 3 Dragonblooded Courtesans as well as 14 heroic mortals, they are for the most part under the PCs direct control (mostly Ronen's control). They are employed in Corva's Teahouse.

Followers: Former Immaculate ladies

Followers 4: 1,000 women of varying types, all of whom are highly enamored (read: madly in love/lust) w/ Ronen.

Sasuke: Local numbers

There are 300 Sasuke in Nexus or near enough to be trained. That is a Magnitude 4 group, insofar as Mass Combat is concerned.
