The Ichor Angels are a little known successor of the Blood Angels, founded in the 32nd Millenium as a part of the 3rd founding. The cause for their creation was a prediction from a Librarian that the Blackstar system would be taken over in the near future. The Chapter was created to crusade through this system, taking it back when it would fall.

They are less linked to the Blood Angels then some chapters in terms of genetics but they truly represent the sons of Sanguinius. They are constantly decorated, head to toe in iconography and livery, and have a burning thirst for blood, but not in the same way the Blood Angels do. Their main way of war is aggressive attrition and war, that is how they sate there thirst for blood, by seeing enemies explode into viscera and gore. A genetic error, or blessing, means that their thirst gets sated just by the mere sight of it. Although their cravings are twice as high and have an increased chance to fall to the thirst. They also suffer from a genetic mutation where their skin is either a strange tanned pigment or a sickly pale or yellow. Nearly all of the marines suffer from this discolouration of the skin.

The chapters home world, the aptly named Ichorus Prime, situated in the system which you can guess what it's called. The Ichorus System located next to The Storm Of The Emperors Wrath. Ichorus Prime is a Death World wasteland after multiple Virus bombs were launched at it during the Horus Heresy by the Death Guards as it used to be a fortress world/hiding place for a crippled Blood Angel company, led by Tyborel Comaeus, one of the founders of the Ichor Angels and then captain of the Ichor Angels 1st Company. The world is now undergoing repairs and will soon be at the stage of a feudal world as part the relief force from Guilliman and a reward from holding Baal against the Tyranids. Ichorus Prime has a small moon floating around it, labelled Ichor Luna, which is home to the Ichor angels brother chapter, the Ichor Revenants, unbeknownst to most of the Imperium.
