"You are huge! That means you have huge guts!"

THAT is a quote from the most excellent [[Doom]] Comic Book, in which a Berserker Packing Man and a Half, a 12.0 on a 10.0 Scale of Badness, with a headful of mad and a handful of vertebrae (better known to the world as "Doomguy"), tries to attack a Cyberdemon with his fist. Read the thing, it's [[awesome]].

''Rip and tear, until it is done."'' - Doom 2016 Intro

Despite the Doom comic being wildly different in tone from the more modern Doom games, the iconic phrase easily fits well with the Doom Slayer's silent yet palpable rage. In fact, "Rip and Tear" is quite literally one of the first things you hear in the 2016 game's opening, setting the tone for your ensuing murderboner-fueled rampage. It's ''that'' powerful.

In the sequel, DOOM Eternal, the phrase comes up once again (as seen in the above quote). It is [[Wat|muttered by Doomguy himself]] when it is revealed that [[Just As Planned|the Doom Slayer is really Doomguy from the original series]], after locking himself in Hell following the events of Doom 64 and recovered in a delirious, near-death state by the Night Sentinels of Argent D'Nur, where he was inducted into their ranks to fight against the demons until the Sentinels' eventual destruction. The Sentinels have also decided to adopt this as a warcry, translated into "Kar en Tuk" within their language. There is some [[Skub|contention]] regarding whether it's an [[Awesome|appropriate nod while connecting the entire franchise together]], or [[Fail|unnecessary fanservice while "breaking" Doomguy's character as a silent protagonist, even though it does nothing to ultimately break Doomguy's primary shtick as a single-minded, insane demon-killing murderhobo while also showing us that the effects of living in hell for a long time had actually started to affect him.]] 

If any of you have read Beowulf (which any D&D player ''should'') then you all know that Beowulf should have yelled this exact phrase ([[Awesome|in Old English!]]) when he [[World Eaters|tore Grendel's arm off.]]  He probably did, but the author was too busy [[Imperial Cult|putting the word of god into it]] to notice (the legend is thought to be a myth that predates Christianity in Europe by several centuries, but the only surviving document we have was written by some Christian monk who replaced the Pagan supernatural elements with Abrahamic ones, so we have no way of knowing what the original version was like).

40K also has an equivalent of this, thanks to the comic known as ''The Redeemer''.  If anyone in your [[Dark Heresy]] group ever decides to play as a cleric or other redemption cultist (Especially if they're from [[Necromunda]]), liberal usage of "SCOURGE AND PURGE!" is recommended.
