I am happy to provide proofreading (grammar, spelling etc etc) assistance once you get going, in fact I'll (probably) do it for anyone that asks because I find fixing words and shit strangely enjoyable. I'm happy you have a settings page but I am not interested in working on this as I am not a fan of H.R. Giger's work specifically and have no experience with the Dark Seed franchise. oh yes i saw those those are very interesting.

also do you know how to add pictures to the page? because id like pictures of gigers artwork next to the artwork also you seem to be building the mechanics around the adventure/survival horror side of darkseed but i wouid also like some mechanics custom made for the millitary sci fi experience a la stuff like hl2 and terminator 2 do you think you could write for stuff like combat? and stuff like that? you can keep writing the character and environment side of things still though.Savagereaper (talk) 23:20, 3 June 2020 (UTC)

Ok thats fine, as far as uploading, yes you use the upload file, and then put the code in for images (you can see instructions on the wiki page). What i dont know are the rules for uploading. Ive uploading some images Here but these are all my images.

As far as combat goes, i dont think ive played the Hl2 or T2 rpgs. What is the combat system like. I guess what i dont really know is what type of combat are you going for. Can you at some point write me an example of how you imagine combat in this universe goes? maybe type up a quick combat scene that i can understand.

And thats fine, I keep comming on and off today, as I finish some of my own stuff.

no i said the atmosphere shouid be similar: e.g. sci fi atmosphere with action than say survival horror i imagine combat like d20 where you roll a d20 to hit then you roll damage and add modifiers and characters have standard 60 feet of movement

hi death korps soldier! yep you can fix grammar! ask me if you have any questions.

I'm also doing something similar so we should probably plan this somewhat. I've suggested that once something has been decided upon to let me know and I'll go over it to fix grammar, spelling, syntax and so on so it's not done multiple times while still being worked on. If you want to fix spelling and grammar in place that's fine though, I just prefer to do it all at once as part of a larger editing and proofing process. Tvrfvby (talk) 01:41, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Basics of Combat mechanics

So ive pretty much outlined how most confrontations work. Would someone like to look over what i wrote for combat mechanics and give some feed back.

Basic ideas:

  • Items, Artifacts, Weapons, Clothing, etc are all stated on the exact same system.
A healing item is a weapon that does negative damage.
  • Weapon damage is not modified, instead players can use their skills and equipment to reroll and choose the optimal dice roll.
  • Sensory damage/buffs can overwhelm you or an opponent, giving weaker characters alternatives to killing opponents.
  • Most weapons items and artifacts have passive effects, this can be a gun making a really loud noise (that could harm those with strong hearing), or biomechanical weapons affecting your hormones and perception.

I tried to make the system that its flexible for people to add more items and weapons, and also rectify combat really quickly. Let me know what you think.
