If the Emperor's soul is breaking apart (due to thousands of years of torment on the Golden Throne), Saints might be people born with/possessed by those soulbits - imbued by a portion of His power, indeed. Just a thought.

H: Wait, why are they assumed to be the equivalent of Greater Daemons rather than Daemon Princes?

That is a more apt comparison, though to be fair Daemon Princes are still Greater Daemons. Also to the first poster, I don't recall fluff saying that his soul was breaking into pieces that would possess somebody, and I'm pretty sure that was just something popularized by the emperor gets a text to speech device. -- Triacom (talk) 03:53, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
