Talk:Miriael Sabathiel
Is any info from this page canon? Anon 22:01, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, most of Miriael's lore comes from a short story written by Dan Abnett. The only stuff on this page which isn't canon is the TTS bit and her tabletop rules. --Conqueror (talk) 01:12, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
But in The Invitation by Dan Abnett, there is nothing about Inquisitor, band of corrupted Sisters etc. There is only couple pages about Canoness and 2 Sisters hunting Miriael, and some bounty-hunter who was send to catch Miriael but ultimately joined her and helped her kill 3 SoB. I had to double-check, but you're right (there is an insane amount of misinformation floating around about her). I've updated the article to reflect this. --Conqueror (talk) 22:29, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
Rules[edit]
The corrupted Bolter bitches can take a Chaos Rhino, an Elites choice that becomes a Troop choice with their one HQ in the detachment. So, to cut to the chase, anyone fancy helping me in developing a full Codex/ Fandex/ {insert appropriate word here}, akin to the Angry Marines 8th Edition Codex? --Tragicomix (talk) 00:51, 21 December 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, the original intent with these rules was to supplement a CSM, CD, or R&H force, and then I forgot to update them after soup armies became illegal. I'd be down to help expand their rules once I finish updating Codex - Adeptus Ministorum /tg/ Edition. They should probably be a smaller codex, kinda like Inquisition or Militarum Tempestus were last edition, given the relative rarity of Chaos Sisters. We could also augment their small number of SoB options with a bunch of corrupted Ecclesiarchy units, like corrupt Priests, Khornate/Slaaneshi Death Cult Assassins, hordes of cultists, stuff like that. Kinda like Renegades and Heretics, but without being a terrible army ;) --User:Conqueror (talk) 06:36, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
You must really enjoy creating /tg/ codices. I agree with the smaller codex part. Given the prevalence of musical weapons within Slaaneshi factions (Kakophani, Noise Marines and that harpist in Wrath and Rapture), they'd likely have an ironic variant of the Exorcist, and potentially they'd have their own version of those metal musicians. But, I'm just spitballing here. --Tragicomix (talk) 18:14, 21 December 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, it's something of an obsession of mine lol. Slaaneshi Exorcists is an inspired idea, I really like it. We could make it like an exorcist that's armed with a blastmaster array instead of the missile launcher or something. --User:Conqueror (talk) 00:43, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
That would be absolutely brilliant. An Immolator with Sonic Blasters perhaps along with the normal options. And possibly, something even gdubs is currently overlooking: Jump Pack Canoness. Perhaps even the option for Doom Sirens on the Seraphim equivalents. There's even the possibility of introducing a second troops choice, in some tainted version with more daemonic features. --Tragicomix (talk) 14:50, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
Alright, I'm finally all caught up on updating rules. Here's what I'm thinking with this codex right now:
- With all this talk of sonic weaponry, do we want to make this a Slaanesh-only army, or have options for every god? Cuz on the one hand, Sisters have only ever fallen to Slaanesh in the lore; Khornate, Tzeentchian, and Nurglite sisters only exist in fan art. On the other hand, it's a homebrew, so we can be as lore-accurate or inaccurate as we want, and adding more gods could be fun for people who want non-Slaanesh chaos sisters.
- I'm thinking the best way to build this army would probably to make them small like we were saying, and then give them something similar to the GSC Brood Brothers rule, so you can supplement their limited options with units from other Chaos armies.
- We need to decide what kind of special rules chaos sisters get that normal SoB don't. When I first wrote these rules I just gave them standard CSM mark and icon options, but I think there's potential to be a lot more creative here. Stuff like god-specific acts of faith, or if we go the Slaanesh-only route then coming up with Slaanesh-specific acts of faith. We could also replace Simulacrums with tainted relics that each have their own effect (sorta like Chaos Icons). --User:Conqueror (talk) 17:33, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
I'd say Slaanesh only for now, primarily due to the lack of support Slaanesh is receiving at the moment (disregarding Wrath and Rapture). But well, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, so it's not totally out of the question. But for now, working with a single god as the focus might be simpler and easier. Giving them something like Brood Brothers would be advisable since even the normal Sisters don't have the widest range of <ORDER> units, and supplement their own ranks with the general Ministorum units. Perhaps they should have some variation of the Shadowy Allies rule of the Fallen? On the Simulacrums, (perhaps name them Simulacrum Herticus?) it would make sense for them to have a unique buff like the Icons, whilst still providing the +1 to the Tests of Faith. There's a base list of 6 AoF the Sisters have access to, so expanding on that list and renaming a few (change any instance of Emperor in the names to Prince) (new for Slaanesh e.g; a 3D6 charge, requiring a 4+ to activate; shooting twice in the shooting phase, requiring a 5+) would probably be a good idea. --Tragicomix (talk) 20:55, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
I've updated Miriael's rules on this page to be more generic and made a new page for us to build the codex on in order to keep our shit more organized and separated from her main page. --User:Conqueror (talk) 17:33, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
Makes sense, that. More generic, like the Index Characters. Appropriate, really. And that's not a bad idea, actually.--Tragicomix (talk) 16:55, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
