Talk:Monster Girl Encyclopedia

List[edit]
I'm wondering why we need to list the Monstergirls out since anyone can just go to the wikia site instead.--Ilniaj (talk) 01:33, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- 1d4chan is better. 1d4chan needs all of the content.--71.47.208.127 02:49, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Personally, I'd say it's so the page has fun stuff about why people love the setting instead of just our impotent bitching. That said, giving each one its own section is really a little much from a navigation perspective. I'll rearrange it when I can be arsed. --SpectralTime (talk) 04:08, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Oh, hey, beaten to the punch. Good man! --SpectralTime (talk) 15:52, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- And re-beaten. We don't need to recreate their entire wiki on this page- a link to them will work just as well if not better. Besides, what would /tg/ be without impotent bitching?--Newerfag (talk) 06:34, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
Dare you enter my magical realm?[edit]
I think I should make a section titled above so that this is somewhat /tg/ relevent. There are two thread such as here and here that suggest Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay as a system to run it in with slight modifications. Anything else I could add?--Ilniaj (talk) 23:02, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- Monstergirls are about as /tg/ as 40k fanfiction. Just saying.
Edit War[edit]
- Geeeeeeez! Work it out like grown-ass adults here! Bleh! --SpectralTime (talk) 02:23, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
- He's just someone trying to blank pages and cause shit, nobody of any value to the wiki. I don't think there's anything to work out at all with him except to wait for Wikifag to wake up and ban him. Evilexecutive (talk) 02:24, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
- It's not clean, but I'll accept this for now. Evilexecutive (talk) 02:39, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
- Why exactly was this page reverted to have less and less info on it? It seems very boring compared to how it used to be. -Anon 12:25, 12th September 2016 (UTC)
Rules[edit]
Considering this is listed here on a wiki for dice games, it bears asking, what system does this encyclopedia give stats based on? D20? GURPS? Ty (talk) 20:55, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
- It's not a roleplaying system; it's only tangentially related to /tg/. — Anon 04:21, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
Recent Tone Edits[edit]
I can't help but notice that a couple anonymous users (or at least, one anonymous user working from multiple entry points) have been scouring the page of negativity. And... well, I get it. I myself recently did something similar, if more in the vein of toning negativity down than removing it completely. Yet, at the same time, I don't feel that it's fair when the opening of the page literally mentions the fact that lots of people have fairly-serious problems with the setting and how it's written and handled, and that these opinions are neither new nor rare. Surely there must be a gentler redress for your grievances than removing all dissent completely? --SpectralTime (talk) 19:49, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
Okay, you got me. A lot of the negativity in the article seems to be someone's beef with the author, or saying things I couldn't find any sort of source for. I've kept the stuff that is just someone not liking a canonical part of MGE.
- And, fair's fair, some of that stuff probably needed to be cleaned up. Yet, speaking as someone who was a part of the referenced website, it wasn't just one user he demanded be banned. (Nor, sadly, was it just one asshole sending him death-threats and hatemail.) And the fact that the Demon Lord's world is a place where parents fuck their children, and where no one has any redress to say "no" to her or reject her, is a core part of the setting. By KC's own admission, through various translated sources I've been able to access via archives on MonsterGirlRedux, the current site holding his material, it is the corruption aspect of the setting, the part where a person loses all their former morals and identity and is remade into a liberated and slutty person, that personally excites him the most, and, as other parts of this page say, has resulted in some writing problems. I would at least like to readd the fact that rejection of the Demon Lord's vision for the future is impossible to those who are under her influence, since it is a major sticking point for many critics, including, when I was a younger and angrier man, if not a hate-mail-sending-death-threat-making asshole, myself. --SpectralTime (talk) 05:11, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
KC was clear why he made MGU stop hosting his content and it was a matter of annoyance then spite. .I think Monstererization got colored badly by Fallen Maidens as these are the only in-depth cases we have and they're extreme. Later information suggests that attitudes on sex and love are greatly changed but everything else stays the same (I.E Saphirette, who changed into one of the most lusutful monsters is still a scholar) But we don't have any hard facts about it so I won't die on this hill. I understand people have an issue with how dominating the Demon Lord's will is, becuase I too used to have an issue with it. But then I realized it was a monstergirl setting written by someone that liked monstergirls for people that like monstergirls, so it's no wonder the woman wanting to give everyone monstergirl waifus is on the winning team. It probably would have been for the best to cut out the Order altogether and just have humans and monsters living together already, but it's too late for that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. . I won't any more edits, as the outright misleading stuff is gone.
Only girls?[edit]
I mean, no boys to complement? If so, that's sad.
- I mean, the majority of users on /tg/ (and by extension 1d4chan) are straight males, so it makes sense as to why it’s al,OST exclusively Monstergirls. If you wanna make your own Monsterboys then go right ahead, nobody’s stopping you. CoolGuy99 (talk) 23:58, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
- Well, if only I could draw with the same quality...
