Talk:Vance Motherfucking Stubbs
"Unfortunately, sir, a shipment of one hundred Baneblades has just gone out to serve–" =/= "You lost 100 Baneblades"
We'd agree with your point if those 100 Baneblades ever made an appearance. 100 Baneblades throughout the system would be what, 2 or 3 per region? The Guard would smash the shit out of EVERYTHING. - Ahri 10:18, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
The Commissar probably meant to say 10 Baneblades and was just confused due to being in the presence of Vance Motherfucking Stubbs. Also, it's just a random line in a cutscene; it's not supposed to mean anything.
- Whatever actually canonically happened is irrelevant. The point is, simply losing 100 Baneblades is hilarious. --Carcer 11:37, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
- There are plenty of non-combat uses for 100 baneblades, I'll have you know! They probably built bridges out of them, or used them as temporary housing for orphans. M499k 11:47, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
infact, canonically they DID kick shit out of everyone, because now they control all Kaurava. All isters must have had their periods on the same time. 91.153.51.44 11:37, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- At least we don't have to winder about what happened to the Magpies. They were lead by Brother Captain SPESS himself. 72.230.234.165 03:37, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
I'm amazed no one has written a "Codex Stubbs" yet. I can see it now:
- "In the Emperor's name" - Allow lowly guardsman to replace dead commissars by looting their uniform.
- "Just gone out to serve..." - If Stubbs fails a morale check there is a chance Stubbs panics and "misplaces" the most expensive IG vehicle on the table, removing it from play.
- "I know who my true enemy's are" - Chance that if Stubbs is "killed" he is instead airlifted out by Valkyrie after giving a morale crushing speech to the attacking enemy unit.
None reach his manliness? Not a single mention of Ollanius Pius? Or would the mere mention of his name crumble the whole article at the end?71.84.101.195
We gotta give this guy some stats.
So DoW3 has come out...[edit]
And confirmed beyond a doubt that Gorgutz won and Vance lost. Turns out being a badass just isn't enough to win. Sucks for the IG fans, but the article has to reflect what really happened and not what we want to believe is the case. Attempting to find loopholes or justifications on how he could have won despite canon saying otherwise just denigrates his character. --Newerfag (talk) 15:16, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
- I don't believe this section is blaming on Vance apparent defeat more then it is trying to figure out why the characterization of Gorgutz just doesn't make sense in DOW3. As cunning and greedy as Gorgutz is, just leaving the entire star system of Ork Boyz without his command is stupid as it just leaves a power vacuum and the elevation of a new Warboss that will most likely become Gorgutz' rival if he desires to return to Karauva, making all his progress from DOW1 into a waste. The fact that he is suddenly in the submission of Gitstompa without getting a sufficient force of his own boyz from Karauva is even more...strange. Just simply making Gorgutz leave his new acquired territory in search for another Pointy Stikk without exploring in detail on what he did to Kaurava is really bad story telling, its recycling his entire modus operandi and its feels rehashed. That is not to say I hate Gorgutz' character in DOW3, but it does feel that Relic has dropped the ball on this one for the Orks. The Eldar and Space Marines are fine however. This is why this section has Skub highlighted all over it, because it is Skub and why it states to not draw conclusions immediately. But yes, I believe this should be more in Gorgutz' own page than it does with Stubbs as we still aren't sure the current status of Vance right now. Derpysaurus
- Given that the person who added it openly calls himself a Stubbs fanboy, it seems the sole purpose of its addition is to try and deny the fact that the game explicitly says with no room for interpretation that Gorgutz won. And honestly, when you remember that this is also a series that says Khorne Sorcerers, Knights with nonexistent weapon loadouts (I.e. Solaria; no Knight can use two Avenger Gatling cannons), and backflipping Terminators are a thing, the inconsistency with Gorgutz is plainly visible as just another fuck-up made when they wanted to re-add Gorgutz without taking into account any contradictions in the story it would cause. Besides, it also attributes an absurd degree of competence to the Orks- they're warriors, not trackers. Assuming they could find every single Blood Raven in Kaurava is ridiculous. At the same time, the idea that Gorgutz' empire just spontaneously collapsed in his absence is unfounded- by that logic the Orks at Armageddon should have been routed the moment Ghazgkull left the planet. --Newerfag (talk) 15:49, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
- That is why I have moved it to Gorgutz' page. But yes, DOW3 is one of the most lore breaking games to come out of the entirety of WH40K which is saying something, which is why I am taking it with a colossal grain of salt. However, I would like to correct that I did not state that Gorgutz' empire collapsed once he left. I just stated that his absence (And the fact that he is suddenly subservient to Gitstompa if only temporarily) would send a message to the Orks in Karauva that he was weakling all along and create a power vacuum which would lead to a new Warboss of Karauva. It's literally how the Orks roll. But yes, I believe that SergeshD123 is taking this...way too personally.Derpysaurus
Could someone please supply a link to the source where it states Gorgutz' won? This info has also been added to the Kaurava System page and I would like to validate it. Lemonny3663 (talk) 20:22, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
Does this work?--Newerfag (talk) 22:19, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
No I can't access the link sorry. You might have to paste the entire url. Lemonny3663 (talk) 23:48, 3 May 2017 (UTC) It's a picture, but this is the direct link: https://1d4chan.org/wiki/File:ORKZ_ARE_DA_BEST.png --Newerfag (talk) 03:43, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
Yep that worked. Thank you for the information. I've been able to amend the Gortuz victory section on the Kaurava System page. Lemonny3663 (talk) 20:24, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
