Campaign:Macrocosm/List of NPCs

Major NPCs[edit]

Tachyon[edit]

The individual behind the imprisonment and mental entrapment of the Awakened Ones, his identity and origin is entirely unknown - the only thing that is known to the Awakened Ones is the location of his lair.

The Awakened Ones don't know who or what Tachyon is, but they do know for whatever reason he imprisoned them and trapped them in a mental microcosm. Therefore, he must either be someone in possession of vast psionic power, or have the resources to secure the loyalty of someone with such powers.

Chich'kka[edit]

Chich'kka, Thri-Kreen comrade to the Awakened Ones

A Thri-Kreen Ranger skilled in the arts of skinning and tracking, Chich'kka was exiled from his clan for reasons yet unknown to the party. His ultimate goal is not to be redeemed in the eyes of his clan, but rather to usher his people back into their homeworld, a Plane they were banished from long ago and have since longed to return to. Only by doing this can he truly redeem himself in the eyes of his people.

In order to do this, he struck a deal with a man by the name of Lochen, who gave Chich'kka the means of releasing the Awakened Ones, thinking they could be the key to achieving Chich'kka's end. Chich'kka spent four years preparing for their return and sacrificed all of his psionic power just to operate the dorje given to him by Lochen so he could bring the Awakened Ones out of their microcosm. Now, with his trusty vessel the Meat Truncheon, he sails them around Arlumont, the unlikely parent to a young flock seeking answers to their troubling situation.

  • His goal is to mutually work with the Awakened Ones: they help him return his people to their own Plane, he helps them return to their own homes and to restore their previous lives where they left off.

Lochen[edit]

A mysterious character behind the release of the Awakened Ones, he instructed Chich'kka in where he could find Tachyon's Lair and gave him the dorje that would release the Awakened Ones. His purpose is yet unknown to the Awakened Ones, but Chich'kka has alluded to this individual being from the same Plane as the Thri-Kreen.

The Imperial Psions[edit]

Mysterious and unheard of Psions that once served the Empire, but are now after the Awakened Ones.

  • Qobash - Elan Kineticist, killed in Goshima. He commanded an army of Astral Constructs and was the first psion to be encountered.

Minor NPCs[edit]

Tamir[edit]

A strange extraplanar entity in the Sphere of Knowledge within Tachyon's Lair, charged with the storage and dispensing of information about an array of topics.

Lylia Lorghart[edit]

Human Scout that died in the Elven Ruins in Goshima, she is now living, resurrected by Caim's tribal clerics.

Fallen Party Members[edit]

  • Alton and Aderimos - Halfling Rogue and Druid respectively, they fled back to their homelands after being awoken.
  • Bryce Reswald - The betrayer, a human rogue who killed Tharis with acid-poisoning after he was severely wounded by Zang Tsin's Wrath. Slain by Resen and Craven in their rage at losing a friend and comrade in arms.
  • Tharis - Dwarf and Awakened One, he was made to imbibe acid while severely wounded by Reswald and subsequently died.

Oswald the Blacksmith[edit]

A blacksmith in the Pelicos Settlement interested in crafting with a rare, shimmering ore. He struck a deal with Tharis - if he mines a hunk of ore and brings it back to Oswald, Oswald will use it to upgrade his greatpick for free provided he can keep the rest of the ore.

Tarihamba the Mystic[edit]

A mysterious and ill-tempered Rakshasa in the Pelicos Settlement who offers expensive but effective scrying services, among other strange goods and services. He used his abilities to illustrate the engravings in Tachyon's Lair for the Awakened Ones.

Caim[edit]

An elven swordsman from the forest of Goshima. Initially wary of the Awakened Ones, he built a shaky trust with them and led them to the Elven Ruins in Goshima. Now, they are trusted comrades - Caim will help them, should they ever call upon him.

"Lizard Zeppelin"[edit]

This Lizardfolk cult serve the Awakened Ones, having watched them slay their former God. They've gone from a cult more into a regiment. They speak a variant of the Draconic dialect, are excellent fishermen/swimmers, and have limited capacity for fighting. They are cohorts to the party, and number twenty exactly. They are now fully equipped in Scalemail and Tridents!

  • The Honor Guard (517 XP): Black Dog, D'yer Mak'er, Bron-Y-Aur, Tangerine
  • The Rest (-667 XP)

NOTE: The Negative XP reflects how we agreed that with 1000 XP, they could buy off their Level Adjustment and level a class normally. To keep things simple and whatnot.
