Draeliks are a Starfinder race with ties to the Negative Energy Plane. Their home planet of Shadar has no bodies of water, but the Draeliks themselves have vestigial gills and webbed digits, suggesting they were once an aquatic species. They are the leaders of the Shadari Confederacy, a lawless syndicate of criminals, rogues, and assorted scoundrels. Policing the confederacy is nigh impossible as it lies within the massive Kurzach Nebula that blocks scanners and impedes navigation.
Most Draeliks follow a nihilist philosophy known as Ataxxea, showing their belief by getting a tattoo of a Third Eye on their forehead. Ataxxea does not encourage the creation of chaos and destruction for its own sake, but teaches that there is no point in trying to reverse natural deterioration or maintain order. Its followers instead accept and embrace entropy and the inevitable end of all things. These beliefs were instilled in the Draeliks by the Sceanuidars, outsiders from the Negative Energy Plane. The Sceanuidars also gifted the Draeliks with technology and weapons powered by Negative Energy.
