Quest talk:Quest Article Template
How to Mediawiki[edit]
The problem I have with leaving this in the "template" namespace is that it's more of a guideline and format to be copied over, rather than a template to be transcluded as {{Quest Article}}. I suppose it could be substituted into new quest pages with {{subst:Quest Article}}, but then users wanting to use the template have to make the page with only that substitution command, and then edit the page again to fill in all the details. This might be better off being left in the main article namespace and Category:English documentation, like the Formatting Guidelines are. Help:Contents could then link to them, both under the list of topic-specific help pages and under the entry describing the Quest namespace in Help:Namespace.
That said, we probably should have a "Template:Infobox Quest" that holds at least some of this information (e.g. the stuff you presently have filed under the "Information" section). I might get cracking on that one before too long. --Not LongPoster Again (talk) 14:58, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
The "Template:*" namespace is for making things that will be imported into other articles, like Template:Promotions or a template you can modify a little when importing like Template:BLAM or Template:Greentext. It's not for writing guidelines. You're heart's in the right place though. --NotBrandX (talk) 15:23, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
I honestly know very little about how these Wikis work. I'm learning as fast as I can, but I'm bound to make a few mistakes. You can do what you feel is the best solution, 'cause I'm certainly not qualified to give a constructive opinion. By the way, thanks for the feedback! --Lopson (talk) 16:44, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
Location Change[edit]
As discussed, I've moved the article to the Quest namespace. References to it were added in the Help:Namespace page. It's also been categorized as Category:English documentation. --Lopson (talk) 22:48, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
