Setting talk:CATastrophe
Grimdark Creep
once again we are seeing someone who does not get the tone of the setting adding material that wasn't in the threads. Stranglekelp is underwater kudzu it doesn't strangle anything. Secretive ferret people who are 'backstabbing bastards' don't have a place in setting. Not because they're weasel descended but because this is a setting about parties, diving, and maybe the odd punch up with sea monsters or robots. I'm going on an edit spree to keep the grimdark out, have the good courtesy to keep the concept of 'whimsical, light hearted adventure' consistent in the future. -wheelz.

Possible other background[edit]
It's far in the future and humanity has become masters of their realm. Gene-spliced catgirls and catboys form a "pet" caste under their human masters. Self sustaining buildings procure the ultimate in comfort and relaxation, whilst the food crisis has been solved by "ultravendors", vending-style machines with their own never-ending power supply that can synthesise food items from mere passing neutrinos. But in the age of unparallelled science, disaster strikes! A meteorite, formed from colossal chlorine waste containers dumped into the asteroid belt, hit the Earth dead on the north pole. The subsequent water level rise was accelerated by the antarctic ice melting from the global temperature rises following the cataclysm. The planet, now covered in a warm, chlorinated ocean, was almost devoid of life, if it weren't for man's playthings. Though mankind was wiped out, his pet castes survived the event, and now frolic in the flooded ruins of Earth, sustained by Ultravendors and driven by the lust for adventure.
saved from the thread because it sounded interesting
- I maintain that megacities are fucking dumb. Someone else. 22:38, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
- Explaining their origins removes part of the mystery and wonder the setting is based around and removes the DM's capability to make his own origin as well as the players' capability to discover that origin over the course of their game.
Adventure Location Subpage[edit]
could use one ala beastiary and settlement. maybe a page for useable items and plants.
FATE Catastrophe in the Alpha's former position[edit]
I think the article itself should be a system-neutral article, and have links to all the current systems being used. Not just the FATE version. --24.118.228.39 00:22, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
