Setting talk:InfiniCon

From 1d4chan

Seems we're up and running again! Hungarian revived it on his own and now we've got the TG Meta quest guy talking about running an episode that takes place at InfiniCon. Neat stuff. More Updates to come! ChrowX 18:02, 26 March 2012 (BST)

Anyone want to sketch out a map or something?

By the way, if anyone's wondering who this hell this ChrowX fucker is who is writing all over this page, I'm the InfiniCon OP/Chairman

That's cool. Are we going to start up another thread? Seems the last one died when I went to bed. Also, popularity seems to be waning a lot, almost no one except the regulars posted on the latest thread. ~Jarboot

Just wait another few days, polishing it in the while, then repost a freshly baked idea. Say its open for debate and all will go well. /tg/ needs some meat to eat and some solid bones to chew around on.

Going to run the idea by /cgl/. See if they have any input or relevant ideas.

The cgl thread boards.4chan.org/cgl/res/5395930 Not a whole lot of input or ideas yet. It's one of the slower boards, though.

is this setting dead[edit]

I saw Konrad 13 edit this page earilear today the year is 2020 to avoid confusion -a anon

same anon i never participated in the threads but i see potential in this setting is anyone on this project still on 4 chan what about infinicon chairman/chrowx where is he now?

I was mostly just cleaning so stuff up. And I've been thinking of taking the concept and running it via Genesys or some other universal system for my IRL group, have them delve around in the UnderCon taking on furries in between odd jobs to get enough money to get a spot in line to get an autograph from famous VAs and authors. --Konrad13 (talk) 15:42, 30 May 2020 (UTC)

cool i stumbled across this article after reading about some things about 40k and i instanly fell in love. And i wanted to add a lot to this because it had potential for a great narrative for my rpg group, because we all have very diverse tastes in our media and they just made themselves who the wanted to be. so we had a very diverse party of many characters. ps. do you know where the original creator of infinicon is? i looked at his old blog website and he hasnt posted any thing new in forever did he just dissapear off the web?

I'm afraid I don't know the original creator (I wasn't really on /tg/ a lot when they were working out the key points of the city or were putting the page here together). --Konrad13 (talk) 07:15, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

thats a shame because his gmail is on his article on 1d4 chan have you tried it? because i read his blog and his stuff in the threads he sounded like a cool dude.

because as i said before this setting has potential like almost nothing else ive seen on /tg/ before. (maybe a product of me mostly reading /tg/) i wouid like to take this idea and run with it and write all the fanfic in the world. Because its a well tht never runs dry of ideas because you can leverage every kind of franchise imaginable in the writing of VERY DIVERSE stories. did you read the story i wrote about the drug deal on the lore page? I wrote all that in like 30 mins this stuff is insane! Its quite possibly the biggest clusterfuck of ideas possible AND IT WORKS! i couidwrite a novel with this stuff if i wanted!

Hey on a note kinda unrelated to infinicon i am tinking of a setting based on the artwork of famous swiss surrealist hr giger (if youve never heard of him look it up some of his drawing are interesting...) he had 2 video games made based on his works darkseed and darkseed 2 (also for some more context look at these) basically i wanted to adapt the setting of darkseed to a rpg setting so i can run it with my rpg group because its kinda cool and they know I'm kinda into the video game adapted to an rpg thing i wanted to start a page about it maybe? does that sound interesting to you? maybe ill feed the idea to /tg/ idk this is my idea tell me here if youd like to hear more because i couid talk for hours about all the cool ideas i have for all this stuff

If you were cleaning stuff up I'm sorry i fuked up the page for you Konrad13.

If you are interested in an H.R. Giger based RPG in the same vein as Dark Seed and Dark Seed 2 I suggest running that by /tg/ since they can help parse stuff in a thread if it catches their eye. Try out the homebrew threads, having your own thread will most likely mean the thread will not be looked into. As for trying to clean stuff up, it's just what I do. If you can, try to punctuate properly and make sure anything you add to an article is clear, concise and is a worthy addition to it so as to prevent mass pruning and such. I also suggest getting an account here on 1d4chan via the little drop down in the upper right hand area of the top bar (just right of the search bar). It makes it easier to check which pages you work on and such for later and lets you use a signature here in the discussion pages like this > --Konrad13 (talk) 22:43, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Ok cool from now on i wont be so hasty to add things without proper grammar.

i have an account now im called savagereaper

So, while i was thinking about this interesting project a interesting game mechanic for the setting entered my mind. In the setting of dark seed there are 2 worlds that are very closely intertwined, the light world and the dark world the light world is where us normal humans live right? but the dark world is where the creatures depicted in the works of hr giger live. in dark seed the actions of characters in the light world can impact objects in the dark world e.g. opening a door in the light world can cause a similar action to be taken by a charater in the dark world and vice versa and almost every person place or thing has a dark world counterpart but the pcs have dark world counterparts too so my thought was that players wouid create 2 characters: a light world and a dark world one and the pcs wouid come up witha background for both and decide if when the 2 characters they switched back and fort between are friends or enemies how does this sound?

So how i decided that i wanted to write a hr giger rpg setting began when i was going to play dungeons and dragons with my group but one of my buddies for got his character sheet. So, when i was panicking i had a lightbulb moment! i thought to myself: hey you know that /v/ you like called darkseed? how about you get your d20 books and play that! and then it clicked. I explained the premise to my group and they were kinda excited and they all made characters and we played a session and they liked it! So i decided to come to /tg/ and try to share it with others so they can try it! And here i am now but this time im going to put more thought into the advanced mechaincs of the setting like dark world counterparts for pcs and stuff.

I wouid like to start a page for this new idea of mine, Couid you tell me how to do this? And i know it sounds like a lot to ask for help from you for help with my pet project. But you have been so helpful with infinicon and i need someone to help me with this.

While doing research for this homebrew i wrote down a few notes to keep in mind about the setting of dark seed: 1. the main bad guys are ailens from the dark world called the ancients but thes guys arent just ailens from another dimention in a normal way no. they came from a diffrent planet IN the dark world and then subjigated the dark world equivalent of earth and then attempted to conquer earth after. is that shit not fucking insane? 2. All portals to the dark world are mirrors that take you to the equivalent point in the dark world. 3. all things living or not have a counterpart in the dark world. You already have your own personal page ( located here ) so go ahead and post up your notes there. You can also use that page to create your own page by coming up with a working name for the project (such as GigerWorld or something) and placing the name of the project within two closed brackets (use two of this "[" at the front of the title and two of this "]" at the end). --Konrad13 (talk) 09:56, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

i know i have my own personal page i added a list of cool shit i wanted to do. i might get started on the new page and the working title is hr giger's dark world rpg setting i still want to know if you are interested in helping me with writing the new page? Savagereaper (talk) 12:32, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

ok i accidentally created 2 pages because i misspelled campaign on the first one and then i fixed it with the second one how do i delete the bad page? and here is a link to the fixed page with the properly spelled name: ( located here )

dont worry about that page stuff i got it sorted out now. also can you start watching the talk page on the new homebrew? Savagereaper (talk) 06:29, 3 June 2020 (UTC)

also before i forget! there are links i put at the bottom of the settings page i want you to watch the darkseed II trailer because it is huge amounts of awesome lol Savagereaper (talk) 06:35, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
