Fury Road[edit]

So why does Fury Road not count as a Mad Max movie when it's made by the original director to a vision he's had for years? Legitimately curious why one would think that it is the antithesis of everything that the Mad Max Series stands for. --Ahriman's Aide (talk) 22:11, 25 March 2017 (UTC)

If this doesn't drive point home for you, then we have nothing to talk about. And for the record - Coppola, a director entire leagues above Miller, made Godfather 3 to a vision he had for years. And it was still a fucking disaster, so go fgure.

If you're upset about Max not getting injured in the Fury Road crash, it's a bit different. In Road Warrior it's the end to a 2nd act action set piece, in Fury Road it's a first act scene that strips Max of his freedom. If he were injured to the same level in the first act of the movie you wouldn't believe his ability for the rest of the movie. If he heals between the crash and the next chase (around 15 minutes of film) it would need either a healing montage or lose credibility. Plus one could argue that max is an important bystander rather than the main focus.

Have to agree with Ahriman's Aide I think it should be in as a slice of over the top post apocalyptic mayhem it's awesome and worth it's inclusion just for sheer variety of ways they come up with of trashing 1 vehicle from another.--Because (talk) 00:30, 6 January 2020 (UTC)

Also i would make a side point about Coppala and Miller; Coppala has pursued much more artistic films, wheras Miller has definitely gone for more pop-corn entertainment. Differing styles is not a real measure of ability. Look at David Fincher, his first film Alien3 tanked, and even then many people have complimented his talent, even for that film. At the same time, how many cheap action movies has Fincher done?
