This is basically modern day Germany. Only, in their worst nightmares. Case and point:
Germany is a bunch of pacifists, and their soldiers only sit around eating sausages instead of fighting. Here, there is constant warfare (including gang warfare, just surviving here makes you a soldier)
Germany is EGREGIOUSLY environmentalist. Going outside here will kill you, without protection gear.
Germany is bent out of shape about it's past and the Nazis and such. These guys look like the Wermach...
I'm just writing this to recommend that it gets a dedicated article.
