Talk:Astronomican

From 1d4chan

How come on the other 40k wikis they say that to the Chosen power the Astronomican? and it is considered a high honor in the circle of sanctioned psykers to be a Chosen if this article states that it is considered a death sentence (in a bad way). Is the Chosen stuff imperial propaganda bullshit?--99.160.166.8 01:57, 10 October 2013 (UTC)

As to the first part of your question, imagine that the Astronomican is a locomotive. While the Emperor would be like the figurative steam engine, the chosen are the coal, being used as fuel so the Emperor can continue to be a shining beacon for everyone to navigate. Regarding the second part, it depends on how much you like the Emperor and how willing you are to die for him. Since we here a re a cynical bunch, we don't look too highly on getting fed to a giant psychic corpse for its afternoon tea. --Boss Ballkrusha (talk) 02:12, 10 October 2013 (UTC)
I thought the group of psykers that kept the emperor alive (via powering the golden throne) was different from the group of psykers that keep the astromicon going. And that (post heresy) the Emperor doesn't, for the most part, power the astromicon, just calibrates it. In otherwords while the emperor is necessary for the astromicon to function, he is not the primary power source. At least part the regular page on the astromicon main article makes a distinction between powering the golden throne and powering the astromicon. --99.160.166.8 04:01, 10 October 2013 (UTC)
You both are talking about the same thing. For clarity's sake IP guy those that power the Astronomican, like those that power the Golden Throne, DIE.
