Talk:Black Templars
You know it's not a real good idea to be copy-pasting from the lexicanum without fixing the damn thing. Serious dog 13:43, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
Cleaned it up. If my stuff is also shit, say so.
Wasn't there some writefaggotry about pissing on lolis being a BT ritual or something, on /tg/? I only ask because it was so awful it deserves a mention. --86.185.137.169 23:38, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
I was always curious as to how these guys designate their squads. Do they still call them tactical and assault squads? Or do they give them different names? --Orion Nexus 19:25, 22 May 2012 (BST)
- Crusader Squad for the weird sorta-tactical and Assault for Assault, it looks like. Tim 19:35, 22 May 2012 (BST)
- Crusader squads are a mishmash of neophytes (scouts with knives/shotguns) and initiates (tactical marines with chainswords/bolters). Veterans, sergeants (which they don't have), terminators, and first company all fall under the sword brethren. Assault marines are still used but devastators are eschewed entirely in favor of more stabby marines. The whole thing is basically a tiered human wave system with a higher rank meaning you get sharper toys and a lower one meaning you have the "honor" of charging that traitor warhound first. --Petro 19:44, 22 May 2012 (BST)
Fanwank. Wankery everywhere.[edit]
Dear sweet emprah this place reeks of Fan wankery. someone should clean it up.
Wow, you're right, I'll admit I like the Templars, but this is pretty ridiculous. I've edited the article to try and tone that down a bit. - [User:Triacom]]
You guys do know that the old stuff has been that way for years and is intentional hyperbole right? I wrote the original and I'm a Chaos man not big on the templars, it's just the old ED style to call all the other chapters faggots or whatever in the given chapter's article. Not saying your rearranging is bad but be careful not to turn this place into reddit by being "nice". Shit-talk for the shit-talk god, insults for the insult throne, hateboners and racist jokes make the site go round. Don't want to end up like the Imperium article was months ago with talk of "diversity" and other crap in the place of jokes and sarcasm.12345combination
Unfortunately this is not Encyclopedia Dramatica, some shit talking and liking the chapter is fine, but shit talking just for the sake of shit talking makes it look like your're saying "Dey's da bes chaptar evar!" That's why when I toned it down I didn't remove any of the other funny bits like the Daily Routine section or the Field Training bit, and why I didn't remove mention of Grimaldus' temper tantrums or Ludoldus putting Dante to shame in terms of years and why I added that bit about them capturing Cypher, then being forced to hand him off where he escapes because the Dark Angels forgot to lock his cell again. - User:Triacom
Not sayin it was bad man, not even a Templar fan, just sayin be careful. The old versions of the other chapters were a little more shit-talky as well. Just was a little worried when it seemed that the sentences using the word "faggot" got pruned. Editing to rearrange the subsections and make it more coherent as well as less repetitious is goo. Also it was originally written back in 2010-11, with Kelly's WolfityWolfWolfingWolf codex and Ward's Ultras and Blood Angels were coming out. Chapters got allot of hate for shitty writing in their codexes at that time and Templars were the only one stuck in 3ed so nobody had much bad to say about them. At this point the hate has subsided and the update is fine to reflect that but NEVAR FORGIVE and NEVAR FORGET, or some such shit. Man, now I feel old. 12345combination
Black Templars and History[edit]
So is this a part of the new codex or a novel I haven't read, that because they don't have Librarians they're bad at keeping records, or is that just assumed? -- Triacom (talk) 16:26, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
- It's explicitly stated in Eternal Crusader, that they don't know when they lost their Librarians, because they have no Librarians to keep the records
- "There were no Librarians in the Black Templars Chapter, how long this had been so had been lost to the turning of millennia. For without the expertise of the Librarium, the Chapter's records had inevitably fallen to decay" --Dark Angel 2020 (talk) 17:55, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
- "We don't know this history because nobody could be arsed to write it down." That's so delightfully 40k, I love it. - Biggus Berrus (talk) 18:08, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
- I thought it was more of a matter that they don't really have a centralized structure, so no unified record. I remember that their organization is looser, due to their eternal crusade and constant losses. also didn't the chaplains take over most of the duties that the librarians would have had? Saladofstones (talk) 18:25, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
- Considering that the Black Templars came from the Imperial Fists Legion, existed before the Codex Astartes (by that I mean the Templars that would later become the Black Templars), not to mention even after it was made they don't follow it at all so they wouldn't have had any Librarian duties and their job always would have been done by somebody else, be it Chaplains or Serfs. Then again Eternal Crusader sucked anyway so I don't know what I was expecting. -- Triacom (talk) 19:32, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

Why the fuck was a quote from "Thunderpsyker" added here?[edit]
Seriously. Who the fuck is Thunderpsyker and why should we even care? The Alfa Legion doesn't even have it's own article beyond one of their members posting shitty fanfiction we made fun of.
Jesus. I really need to clean up this shitheap of an article.
