Talk:Board Game

Why we would make this page link to it's own category is beyond me. Now we need to add to it. --ManWithNoName 23:47, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Easier navigation, but yeah. --Myomoto 23:47, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
It links to the category for examples of games when the phrase is wikilinked in an article. Björn_Freigh 23:48, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
But It is a redirect to it's own category without having any information.
I guess the extra step wouldn't hurt. Is a pain in the ass though. Will revert. Björn_Freigh 23:51, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Better, now we can add the category link. I'm just saying it's like having an article on on butter that has no information on butter, just links to different brands of butter.

Okay, now it looks more presentable.--ManWithNoName 01:34, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Is Arkham Horror considered as being a good board game? Anyone feel like adding it? 21:15, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I have no idea what is drawing the spam bots to this page, but they've already hit it three times. Can we please semi-protect this? -- SFH 00:12, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

I can see a good argument for that, but on the other hand, it makes for a good and obvious trap. I guess it depends on how persistent the bots are -- would they give up if they were unable to edit this page? --Not LongPoster Again 02:08, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
Sorry that it's been so long since I've protected this page before I explain myself, but I figured that the (non-spam) page content was mostly static, so it would be better to protect it. If any anonymous or new users want to edit the page, leave suggestions on the talk page (i.e. here). I've also set the protection to expire soon-ish, so we'll see if the spambots return. --AssistantWikifag 02:55, 9 September 2012 (BST)
Seems the spammers are back now Dragoon508 (talk) 05:48, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

Why not just perma-protect?..[edit]

Seriously, Spambots are CONSTANTLY coming to this page. That and the Board Tans pages. I've got a theory about it too, that they're targeting pages with 'Board' in their name. What the hell is stopping us from just permanently protecting the "board" pages? Evil Executive, CEO of Evil Incorporated (talk) 16:34, 9 May 2016 (UTC)

I don't perma-protect pages because that blocks our anonymous contributors. I'm not even inclined to temporarily protect this page right now, unless another spambot comes by in the next few days. (It's been three months since the last protection expired, which is longer than other spambots have waited in the past.) I think I've shown you the picture from summer 2012, right? Compared to that, "constantly" is not the word I would use to describe the occasional spam traffic we receive on this page. --AssistantWikifag (talk) 21:04, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
