Reasons for betrayal

I thought of a theory regarding the face-heel turn of Astartes. Do you think that, being the badasses that they are, the Four believe them worth the extra effort and plans in corrupting them? Comes to my mind the Crimson Slaughter. The boys only slaughtered a planet worth of Khorne worshippers, something that Khorne wouldn't mind too much (blood was spilled, after all), but he cursed them and put them in the CSM path. Also remember a short story in the Daemons Codex (edition not remembered, but I think 6th) in which Tzeentch created an extremely convoluted plan wich burned planets, millions perished, The Changeling as a dick and the Grey Knights declared exterminatus only to plant a seed of doubt in a single Grey Knight. Repeat: all that, just to make a single Grey Knight, and an Initiate no less, to doubt.

That's what I think: Could the Chaos Gods be taking additional lengths corrupting Astartes instead of other imperial forces? After all, Death Korps are still guardsmen and there are more gullible regiments out there; and the SoB could take as much (if not more) resources and effort than an Astartes "just" for average soldiers in power-armor and fanatical faith, something that they already have avaliable in the Space Marines.

Get a Black Legion or Word Bearer on there. Get that renegade off of the top image. Or a battle scene featuring csm.

A change of tone in order?

Okay, I get that most CSM players are angry (and right to be) with how far we've fallen from the 3.5 days. But as a Death Guard player, I think the article should show a little more appreciation for Traitor Legions. Fluffy yet competitive and, to my shock, really fun rules for my dudes. It's time to count our blessings. Thoughts?
