Discussions[edit]
This is the discussions page for the Codex Angry Custodes. This is where you may post your opinions on how shit this page is, how I'm a pointy eared faggot and how my father was a hamster, enjoy. If you would also like to leave constructive criticism, suggestions, discussions (who would have thought a page titled discussions would have discussions on it) and general comments, this is also the place to do it.
Constructive[edit]
How Is The Doc (talk): I finished reading the Custodes Codex, and is now ready to help with the Codex - Angry Custodes.[edit]
- the Custodes chain of command
- 1. THE EMPEROR!!!
- 2. the Captain-General (The current Captain-General is Trajann Valoris)
- 3. the Custodian Tribunate (consist of 10 veteran custodes that will be replaced occasionally, who has the role of advisor to the Captain-General and therefore they do not see much fighting)
- 4. Shield-Captains
- 5. all other Custodes
- 6. the rest of the Imperium (this include inquisitors and Primarchs)
- Custodes Deployments
- Shield Companys: consist of 1 Shield-Captain and 30/40 other Custodes and sometimes some Land Raiders and Dreadnoughts.
- Shield Hosts: consist of multiple Shield Companys, but will never consist of more than 100 Custodes (with the exception of extreme cases and the Dread Host, whom I will say more about later)
- the Dread Host is the "Instrument of the EMPEROR's Wrath", and are the ones closest to being Angry Custodes. they are not themselves angry but they are the host ... or to be correct, host of Shield Hosts that is sent out against "the most visible and dramatic threats to the Segmentum Solar and unleash upon them such overwhelming annihilation that it sends shock waves rolling through the warp itself.", "The nature of this army is simple: they are the deliverers of the EMPEROR's judgement, his anger and his punishment made manifest.",
- and therefore it is highly likely that it is the Dread Host that "admired the Angry marines for their righteous fury and their ability to kick anything in the balls even if it didn’t have genitalia" and brought Chapter Master Temperus Maximus "to Terra to the inner sanctum of the imperial palace" and turned into the Angry Custodes.
- The reason that Angry Marines did not reject the Primaris Marines when they met them the first time is; one part Silencer Ancients Supervision, and a group of Custodians Named Emissaries Imperatus, who claim that they can sometimes hear the EMPEROR's voice during their meditations (oil lubrication) and feel his hand guiding them,
VeryIntelligentShadeOfTheColourBlue (talk): I like that last point, I’m not putting in anywhere near enough homoerotism into the Angry custodes, I keep treating them like beefed up Angry Marines but they’re entirely different... well not entirely but marines and custodes aren’t even the same species.
- (The Emperor's Eye’s) shortly sai; They will do everything to have a good reason to throw the armor, oiling up their naked forms and go on a fabulous Adventure.
- Custodes can not be or Become a psyker or Null because of the way they are created.
- I hope you can use this information about their bread knife.
- The Angry Custodes will have many Terminators since the most aggressive Custodes prefer to use Terminator Armor.
THE 1d4chan table guide for NEWBIES! be How Is The Doc (talk)[edit]
I would have liked that someone gave me this guide a year ago when I saw 1d4chan the first time.
in order for you to understand this guide, please clik edit.
this line seen below, acts as a kind of wall; no text or tables over it can not pass by it, and no text or tables below it can not pass it.
..............................................................................................................
These two tables are the ones I use the most.
...
align=left and align=right Determines whether it should be located on the right or left side.
...
! Name !! M !! WS !! BS !! S !! T !! W !! A !! Ld !! Sv !! Points
This line mains the line where you put things like for example: Name, Abilities, AP, M, Description, explanation, and so on
...
|-
This thing makes sure what you write on the next line comes under what you write on the line over it.
...
| Angry Primaris Ancient Lieutenant || 6" || 2+ || 3+ || 4 || 4 || 5 || 4 || 8 || 3+ || 88
and
| Boltgun || 24" || Rapit Fire 1 || 4 || 0 || 1 || -
are standard lines where you write things like the name, its characteristics, descriptions and explanations on a thing.

Destructive[edit]
Ideas[edit]
Strategems[edit]
- RAMPAGE!!! - 1CP - Use this Stratagem in any Fight phase to add D3 to the Attacks characteristic of an Angry Custodes Character from your army that charged earlier in the turn, for the duration of the Fight phase.
VeryIntelligentShadeOfTheColourBlue (talk): The fuck you and your stratagems rule should probably be removed or at least reworked so that you can use your own stratagems. That can be the first custodes strategem.
Relics[edit]
VeryIntelligentShadeOfTheColourBlue (talk): Writing the relics will be tricky as I’ve got to be careful not to just repeat relics that I created for the Angry Marines, how does a 2cp stratagem sound that allows you to take an additional relic from the Angry Marines codex to use with the custodes.
Poto: Sounds good but maybe only if you have an angry marines character or unit, a USR that lets angry marines and angry custodes be in the same detachment without losing chapter tactics and stratagems would be pretty good as well.
VeryIntelligentShadeOfTheColourBlue (talk): You can (if you wish) use the ANGRY keyword which is shared by the Angry Marines and the Angry Custodes, but perhaps if you have a separate detachment of ANGRY MARINES you may use that stratagem. Feel free to suggest any relic/strategem/warlord traits and I’ll write some fluff for them and suggest some rules, same applies to you Doc if your reading this.
- such a Stratagem would be hard to make so Rule fuckers (like myself) can not use it and I feel it is unnecessary (with the exception of The Head of Ward).
- I have found this Stratagem in all my Codex without any exceptions:
- Use this Stratagem before the battle. Your army can have one extra ... Relic for 1 CP, or two extra ... Relics for 3 CPs. All the ... Relics that you include must be different and be given to different ... Characters.
- I think it's time to have the long conversation about What you want this codex to be fluff and crunch wise.
VeryIntelligentShadeOfTheColourBlue (talk): Ideally we would be that over a phone call or something, but in short the Angry Custodes:
- Are even more durable than the normal custodes (as their invulnerability saves can block mortal wounds).
- They deal mortal wounds to everything, especially upon death.
- They fight each other (my original rules allowed them to have as many banners as you wanted, but if two banners got within 24" of each other the two units had to fight each other).
- They cost more than a fully kitted out custodian.
Fluff wise I'm still writing the great fuckening fluff, suffice it to say that the fluff around the angry custodes makes them borderline heretical both within the fluff and outside of it, hence why a phone call or me writing a fuck load of stories for them would be best.
Knights apoplectic[edit]
VeryIntelligentShadeOfTheColourBlue (talk): Thanks for that addition Poto, feel free to add bits and pieces as you see fit, I still haven't got the custodes codex but I do have the the forge world imperium index (which is where I've got all the rules for the angry titans up to this point) so I should finish off the rules for models like lady dakkadakkadakka who are forge world knights.
Points cost[edit]
[1] Custodes points leak
VeryIntelligentShadeOfTheColourBlue (talk):
Thanks Poto, I will be getting a copy of the codex myself but you and the doc are far better suited to assigning points cost to units than I am, especially as the Angry custodes will be costing at least 10 points more per model.
[2] Also found some rules links, a bit blurry but they should help with points and the such.
Monty Python jokes[edit]
General[edit]
VeryIntelligentShadeOfTheColourBlue (talk): FINALLY GOT MYSELF A CODEX BITCHES!!! LET THE RED AND GOLD TIDE COMMENSE!!!
How Is The Doc (talk): the following abilities I recommend that we either remove or or we convert them to Stratagems, because they are either too OP, too cumbersome, too self-destructive, or a combination of the three.
- FUCK YOU AND YOUR COMMAND POINTS!!!
- ECHO IN THE FUCKING WARP COCKSUCKER!!!
- Ka FUUUUUUU!
- Charge of the FUCK YOU brigade
- Scary as fuck but impossible to miss
- COVER CAMPING BASTARDS!
VeryIntelligentShadeOfTheColourBlue (talk):
- Cover camping bastards can just be removed.
- Scary as fuck but impossible to miss can be renamed and turned into a stratagem where a unit damaged by an angry custodes rolls 4D3 instead of 1D6 and discards the lowest two dice in the following morale phase.
- Charge of the fuck you brigade can become a stratagem where you get a 6”+D6” charge for a single unit.
- Id like to keep ka fuck as it is, having the custodes explode in fury whenever they die was part of the base idea I had for them.
- Echo in the warp could turn into just an extra -1 to leadership to enemy units within 6”, and the second part can be turned into a stratagem.
- Fuck you and your command points can either just go or become a stratagem, looking back at it it is rather op as units could only be targeted indirectly (units with 6” take a mortal wound for example).
On your point about the Angry custodes making the most use of terminators, shall we make them a troops option? Thanks again by the way doc, it’s difficult to shave off excess rules when you yourself have written them, additional perspective is always useful.
How Is The Doc (talk): you're welcome, also
this happened.
- if terminators should be a Troop choice, then “Armourless” Angry Custodes Squad should be a Elite choice.
- ECHO IN THE FUCKING WARP COCKSUCKER!!!: Custodes can not be or Become a psyker or Null because the candidates that are or would become psykers or Nulls will be discarded through countless trials and tests, so this ability makes no sense. (crunch)
- what role do you want the "Armorless Custodes" to have in the army?
- Oiled up for high speed? would it not be more realistic with an ability called like this "Oiled up to the point that attacks slip off them" that does this; Roll a D6 each time a model in this unit loses a wound; on a 4+ the damage is ignored, and that wound is not lost.
- Custodes Land Raider is described as having the most Bellicose Machine Spirit which is both noble and aggressive.
- The Golden Axe Murderers Seems to be based of Allarus Custodians which is Custodes Terminator. so either we will remove The Golden Axe Murderers or we should rename Angry Allarus Terminator to Golden Axe Murderers ... or an indeterminate third option.
- The only time in the Custod Codex that it is said that they will throw away their armor, is the piece about The Emperor's Eyes.
VeryIntelligentShadeOfTheColourBlue (talk):
- Troop choice terminators a good idea, making armourless ones an elite choice, although the armourless custodes is more a reference to if the emperor had a text to speech device, I don’t know the last time we had fluff proofing it.
- I imagined the armourless custodes being similar to harlequins, in that they’re very fast but vulnerable, having only a 4+/4++, and would be the proper custodes source of dual wielding melee weapons.
- Slippery when wet would be a better name for it, although a 4+ feel no pain save on top of T5 4+/4++ might make them tougher than normal custodes while being super fast, so they’ll need some kind of downside other than cost.
- I haven’t really touched the land raider at all other than a bunch of notes which I had made in my notebook, how would you represent such anger compared to say the angry marines land raider.
- The golden axe murderers are the allarus custodians, I’m struggling to think of a way of making them unique though.
- Tge emperors eyes is a completely new unit based off the custodes who leave their watch because they deem themselves unworthy of the post, its only a smallish extract of the codex.
- I still need to write a section for the condemptor dreadnought, and that’s not even taking into account all the new forge world unite that will get rules once they release the talons of the emperor index.
- the land raider: if physically represent such anger, no ideas. but if we want to make it be more aggressive in the rules, give it an ability that works like "JUST FUCKING HIT THE BASTARDS!" and improve its "Power of the Angry Machine Spirit" so it also works on assault weapons.
- The golden axe murderers: we could turn all their weapons into axes (This also includes their Misericordia).
- emperors eyes and “Armourless” Angry Custodes: as I said earlier, They will do almost anything to have a good reason to throw away the armor, oiling up their naked forms and go on a fabulous Adventure.
- the condemptor dreadnought: "Bellowing a vox-amplified war cry, the Venerable Condemptor Dreadnought storms into the enemy with merciless fury."
- and is described as having "a fist like a wrecking ball"
- and " The Custodian becomes a god of war, able to stride unharmed through hails of fire and crush the marster of mankind's foes with their hydraulic might. In return, they face an eterniy cut off from the out side world, bound to mechanical systems that can never truly replicate the feel of sunlight upon their (naked, muscular and Oiled up) skin, or the satisfying crunch of their blade through an enemy's flesh. Despite this, there are tales of unharmed Custodians volunteering to pilot Condemptors whose previous occupants were slain in battle.".
- Banner Hoarders: Banner of “Return to Sender”: Roll a D6 for any damage which is saved against or ignored by any ANGRY CUSTODES unit within 6” that was dealt by an enemy unit. On a 6, that damage is dealt back to the enemy unit which caused it, but the damage is dealt as mortal wounds. This banner is too OP and cumbersome.
- more about the condemptor dreadnought: "Each Venerable Contemptor Dreadnought is an ancient warengine, arelic that incorporateswonders of technology that the imperium can no longer replicate." so the tech adepts of the angry custodes can not build extra Contemptor Dreadnoughts which is as mighty as the normal (Angry) Venerable Contemptor Dreadnought.
