Talk:Corellon Larethian
Okay, I'm gonna go with 'NO'. To almost all of it, excepting Corellon's name, that he's the main elven deity, and that he put out Gruumsh's eye.
There are no references in this article, and no external establishment of most of what is written here. If you want credibility, cite sources.
- Firstly, you're not gonna get sources here, this isn't Wikipedia. You can find them elsewhere. The hyperbole is obviously for dramatic effect, Gruumsh did not bleed so profusely from his ASS that it weakened the foundations in his fortress, but that story is related in Races of the Wild (2005) p26 If you want a more "accurate" depiction then go to a different website... but saying you disagree with ALL of it without actually giving your own alternative just shows that you're lazy and haven't bothered to look, either in the earlier source material or elsewhere... So here you go from what I've got myself, and from what I can pull from these other sites:
- Fenmarel Mestarine being Araushnee's adulterous partner and spurning her - Demihuman Deities (1998) p111, p149
- Sehanine is considered Corellons daughter - Demihuman Deities (1998) p125
- Sehanine and Corellon having a son Tethrin Veralde - Dragon Magazine #236
- Araushnee was kidnapped by Gruumsh and Corellon forged a longbow from a tall tree shots loads of arrows until the fortress fell down after a literal river of blood. Races of the Wild (2005) p25
- The sword Sahandrian breaking and Sehanine reforging it - Evermeet, Island of Elves (1999). Various
- Eilistraee using a cursed arrow (actually a normal arrow drawn to a cursed scabbard) to bring Corellon down - Demihuman Deities (1998) p13-16
- Sehanine combining with Hanali and Aerdrie to form Angharrad and healing Corellon after the fight with Gruumsh - pretty much ANY Forgotten Realms sourcebook prior to 5th edition, look it up.
- Creating the elves with a mixture of Corellons blood with Sehanines tears - Faiths and Pantheons (2002) p129, Races of the Wild (2005) p26
In fact, the ONE thing you claim to agree on is actually disputed in the sources. Clerics of Gruumsh actually claim that he always had one eye, and it's all just elven propaganda. Faiths and Pantheons (2002) p149 or that Corellon stole it because he couldn't win a fair fight Deities and Demigods (2002) p71
Now before you go saying that most of these sources are from Forgotten Realms, bear in mind that most of the material prior to 3e was only from FR, so it's the only place to get that info. --Dark Angel 2020 (talk) 19:53, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
