I'm kinda busy right now, but what should be done is an article 'bout D&D as a gaming system, it being most popular, it's role in introducing nubes to the hobby, blah-blah. What should be done next is a short overview of each edition (settings. too) with a link to a more specific article dedicated to it, describing new mechanics introduced in the edition, amount of BAWWWWing etc. We already have an article about 4E like that.
