Talk:Doctor Who

Since this is a /tg/ wiki, do we really have to spew so much about the fluff for a teevee show? The actual gaming section of this article is literally dwarfed by the information about the show's production history. --NotBrandX 15:31, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
- Well, it's definitely nerdy, and I think that's reason enough to be there. Since, you know, to understand /tg/, it's a good idea to understand where it comes from and what its interests are. Fatum 18:01, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
- Hey, some of us like facts, it doesn't have to all be crap. Sanity
- This show I like more than the rest. This was because I vaguely remember viewing the Tom Baker-era at a very young age, and here's my opinion of the best shows (not board-games, so you know why I haven't included the fantastic Warhammer 40k) if anyone is interested:
- Hey, some of us like facts, it doesn't have to all be crap. Sanity
- Star Wars. Because it's Star Wars. Do I even have to talk about it? (I assume you mean the original trilogy? If you say the prequels, prepare for NerdRage!)
- Doctor Who. I'm most familiar with it, and the original series had better plots and effects than star-trek did, at least at that time.
- Star Trek. Many of it's episodes were hit-or-miss, but I still love it.
- Battlestar Galactica. I've only watched a few episodes from the 2004 series, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The rest I honestly don't give a shit about. - 62.30.215.218 21:57, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
TV Fluff[edit]
- I see no purpose for 10 miles of fluff for the tv show on a tabletop wiki. Wikipedia has a extremely long and detailed set of pages for all the fluff, character bios, and production trivia one could ever desire. The only thing that should be on this page are the Doctor Who tabletop games and that section needs to be expanded as it is currently somewhat anemic. Removing unless someone can present a viable reason that this information is necessary to the Doctor Who tabletop game --24.94.237.251 (talk)
- I remember seeing a Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader scenario where totally-not-the-Fourth-Doctor was involved, so some explanation of regeneration and a few of the doctors (as needed) might be in order. Most of this wiki is devoted to a British wargame which includes (included, anyway) nods to British culture, so to explain the wacky stuff that early editions had, we probably need some attention on the wacky stuff that was on early editions of Doctor Who. --Not LongPoster Again (talk) 20:57, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
