Talk:Fra'al

From 1d4chan

It wasn't argument, it was 1d4chan snark. Look Derpy, that aside, I don't get why you are so obsessed with these fan-made flags of yours. Frankly, in my opinion they aren't great and they are definitely out of place. If you must include it, put it in a standard fan-art section at the bottom. --Cavgunner (talk) 05:18, 6 November 2019 (UTC)

  • Nah man, this time it really wasn't the flag itself. Its just that the sentence itself looks a bit too close to being argumentative, snark or not, I have read too many edits that spiraled into an edit war. It ain't really a jab on anything, its just pretty hard to make things snarky/sarcastic on a wiki page and some editors/viewers may not pick up on this and take it seriously. Its just my general precaution taking place, so I hope to clarify so as to not make any misunderstandings here. It honestly just needs a bit of rewording so as to not sound...too much like a debate forum. I have also already found a good canon image for the Fra'al, so the flag no longer holds as much importance to me nowadays. Derpysaurus (talk) 17:04, 6 November 2019 (UTC)

Fraal/Fra'al[edit]

I don't see why it shouldn't be mentioned. They first appeared, according to my limited research, in Battlefleet: Gothic (pub 1999) when Alternity (pub 1998) was new. The names probably aren't coincidence. --Agiletek (talk) 06:02, 22 January 2020 (UTC)

Forgive me for saying so, but your statement seems unclear. What exactly do you think should be mentioned?--Cavgunner (talk) 07:01, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
You edit you removed which said that the Fra'al (of Battlefleet Gothic/Warhammer), or at least their name, are probably taken in some form from the Fraal of Alternity. --Agiletek (talk) 07:52, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
I agree that it's a highly unusual coincidence, but I think we'd need more information to substantiate it as an intentional move on GW's part. The reason being because if it's true, it means that GW was directly and actively infringing upon a competitor's IP, a potentially serious offense. Although I get now why some people insist on describing the Fra'al as "Greys" even though GW has never described them that way, to my knowledge.
