Mary Sue[edit]

Okay, I'd allow that Ventris turned into an author avatar on blindly following the Codex, but seriously, saying that he's the biggest Mary Sue in Ultramarine history because he doesn't follow the Codex? That's ignoring a lot of things wrote Cato Sicarius and Marneus Calgar doing. -- SFH (talk) 20:15, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

IMO, it's all a matter of opinion. That said, it's best that we keep it relatively moderate if we can.--Newerfag (talk) 21:12, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
Cato and Calgar are special characters form the game, they're stuff is to hype them up so you would buy there models. Ventris meanwhile started out fine but slowly warps into an OC special Snowflake, to a point were he basically says the only way Ultramarines can be awesome/good is stop being Ultramarines, its like having some Wolf Lord telling the other Space Wolves to stop being Vikings and having wolves and Logan Grimnar agrees.
They're ALL Mary Sues, now let's just leave it at that.--Newerfag (talk) 02:37, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

Deflower[edit]

I previously posted in this discussion that Graham McNeil wrote in Fulgrim that a character wanted to 'deflower' another character. This was removed. Why? This is a discussions page, not even the main article. This kind of prose by a successful author deserves to be mocked. It is beyond lame. What is funny is that the author Nik Vincent, who happens to be the wife of Dan Abnett, was at a Black Library Weekender a few years ago and called someone out for using the term during an audience story pitch when Graham was only a few rooms away. I don't care if you're right wing extremist, an SJW, a feminist, or Borris bloody Johnson, if you use that term you deserve to be mocked. And the main article is spot on. McNeil writes such dull prose. But he's been successful with it, so why delete this discussion?

Yes, but no one cares because this is objectively among the stupidest hills to die on, and no one wants to humor someone typing paragraphs over something so relatively inane. --2600:1700:F610:2490:9DC1:4E7B:E642:428A 02:21, 24 October 2018 (UTC)
