Are the grotesques mostly human, or are other species used too?

I guess most grotesques are made using human slaves, but are other species also used for this process? And if so, are there any major differences between them?

I know that the first encounter between the Dark Eldar and Tau involved a number of cultural ambassadors being turned into what might have been Grotesques, but I don't think there's much of a difference. - Biggus Berrus (talk) 10:07, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
