Pre Disney Crossguard Sabers[edit]

Looking at the sources on Wookieepedia, it's clear that two very distinct designs are being conflated here. In Republic 61 the lightsaber in question is a double bladed lightsaber with the second blade about 15 degrees offset from the primary blade, which isn't really a crossguard. This is clearly what Jedi Academy Training Manual describes as an equipment option, and what's in Purge. Even the Wookieepedia article itself admits this. --Agiletek (talk) 17:26, 17 January 2020 (UTC)

You're right, I mistook it. Still, I don't think there's any particular reason to split off two variants of hilts from the list because of who owns the franchise right now. It's the same reason I think the Character list shouldn't be split up either; most of the variants are found in both pre- and post-Disney works so the only reason there's a split seems to be to tell the reader "Disney bought Star Wars, you heard?". Not that I object to pointing it out in each section if it came from a Disney work. TheWiseDane (talk) 16:06, 18 January 2020 (UTC)
Many of the classic designs are dumb. The crossguard is just retarded. That's enough reason to split them. --Agiletek (talk) 07:13, 21 January 2020 (UTC)
... No, it really isn't. You just said that there's no strong reason to split them, and after that argue that they should be split anyway because one variant is dumber. And if it's dumbness we're identifying, why not make a "Cool Hilts" and "Dumb Hilts" distinction instead? TheWiseDane (talk) 10:09, 21 January 2020 (UTC)

Shoto Joke[edit]

To avoid an edit war, I'm going to address User:Konrad13 here directly. Is there such a big issue with linking "Shoto" to "Shota" as a joke? --203.40.20.57 15:21, 18 January 2020 (UTC)

It's really dumb and makes no sense in the context. If you wanted to link, say, padawan to shota or loli that is one thing, but simple "they are spelled similarly" isn't enough to justify the linking.--Konrad13 (talk) 12:12, 21 January 2020 (UTC)
The joke is that it's a small/miniature/child/whatever lightsabre and is ironically spelt similarly. Literally a shota lightsabre. --203.40.115.176 01:50, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
Still not enought to warrant the linking --Konrad13 (talk) 17:43, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
It's a joke. TheWiseDane (talk) 21:27, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
So it's just a case of 'I don't like it'? --203.40.37.121 13:28, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
