Talk:Maulerfiend
Two tendrils or one?[edit]
I recently started playing chaos and was looking at the two fiends when I noticed the tendrils. wow 12 extra attacks is beast maby even to beast. so I started looking online and found that the forgfiend may replace both weapons with 2 plasma and the maulerfiend may replace both pistols with one tendrils is the concession. BUT BOTH HAVE THE EXACT SAME WORDING? Did i miss read something or because of a new perspective nobody noticed this? BibiFloris (talk) 20:38, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
- The difference is that the Forgefiend lists Ectoplasma Cannon in the singular in its weapon profiles list, but in the plural in its wargear options. The Maulerfields meanwhile lists the Lasher Tendrils in the plural in both the weapon profiles list and its wargear options. This means that the Forgefiend can replace its two autocannons for two ectoplasma cannons, but the Maulerfiend can replace its two Magma Cutters with a set of Lasher Tendrils. This is one set that grants +6 attacks, because otherwise you'd have a beast with 16 attacks in its base form for only 12 points, which is way more than any comparable monster has. Ergo, you only get the bonus once since you only get the weapon once. - Biggus Berrus (talk) 21:24, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
Thanks! That from a modeling and balance perspective it would be the case I could see but not from rules.
The could have written it down a bit more clear because needing to dust of my English books (not a native speaker) to understand the difference between the two fiends is bad writing/design.
Thanks for the help BibiFloris (talk) 21:30, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
