So what's with all this Merfolk stuff going on? Not that I mind, it just confuses me. Is it some kind of homebrew? - Biggus Berrus (talk) 09:03, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
- Seems to be just one dude obsessed with them. If you don't think it has any relevance, put up the delete tag for it and its child articles and take it up with him.--Newerfag (talk) 16:07, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
- Its mostly just me thinking about how a merfolk race would develop in a fantasy setting because im bored. ive been brainstorming how they would overcome the technical challenges of living underwater and how they would interact in the world. Ive been trying to write fluff that makes sense for them (i think i did a good job with the Coastal Merfolk and Coral Merfolk but the others need work). Most versions of merfolk portray them as boring tribals in the ocean that arent really relevant and cant even travel on land. Ive always wanted to play a merfolk race but the official versions in pathfinder and D&D and cerulean seas are kinda shitty. So i made my own homebrew races. you can add stuff if you want. I also am using the page as a way of storing some of the neat merfolk artwork ive collected--Kapow (talk) 21:55, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
- With all due respect, if the page is meant more for your own convenience rather than for anyone else then you should probably move it onto your user page instead of the main space. Also, it's not surprising that the official playable versions are lame- the entire concept of merfolk relies solely on their gimmick (i.e. they're people who live underwater)- take that away and they have no reason to exist.--Newerfag (talk) 01:06, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
- I would rather not move it to my user page because it is alot of content and it would not be very well presented on a single page. This page was started when people on /tg/ requested a place to store some of the things that i had posted to a thread about merfolk. i would not have a problem removing all of these pages and continuing work on them on my own computer, but the entire reason this even exists is because people in that thread liked what i had written and liked the art i was posting. Eventually, once it is up to par, i was hoping to talk to the unified setting people and asking them to allow me to add it to their setting. here is an example thread from almost a year ago that had some of my writing in it http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/27484548/ (no i did not archive the thread myself nor did i start it). I dont think it should be moved to my user page because it is for other people to enjoy. i dont have a problem with people contributing to it, and that was my original intent when i created the page. However, the people in the thread apparently did not follow up with their goal of contributing to the wiki page and this evolved into a one man operation. Regardless, i take alot of ideas directly from /tg/ threads. At any rate we need to decide what should be done right now so that i dont waste any of my time creating content that might get removed.--Kapow (talk) 03:16, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

So, have we decided what we are going to do? there are many many pages on this site that exist only for people to present their writefaggotry and homebrew fluff. this page is no different. does anyone have an argument that disputes this position? I will probably just go straight to an admin to get the final word on the situation.--Kapow (talk) 01:14, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
