I think that map was counting India as a tributary state, the difference between client states and direct rule was always kind of blurry at best with Mongols. They did invade India a couple times but never directly controlled the interior. --Petro (talk) 17:20, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
Persian Post[edit]
The Mongols and Romans weren't first to have a postal system, the Achaemenids were first in this and are generally believed to have had a reliable system as well. The indian Maurya MAY have beaten to contemporary Romans to a postal system, I don't recall the exact dates.
