Old Fate/Zero Conversation[edit]

Everything below this line is from back when this was just the Fate/Zero page. It doesn't have much to do with the current state of affairs, but has been preserved.

Why don't you collapse it then? -- Triacom (talk) 00:17, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
It's collapsed. Seihai (talk) 00:38, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure you mixed up the two versions of collapsed content. One starts open by default, the other starts closed. Since I'm you say you just wanted to just preserve the topic I've changed it to the closed one. -- Triacom (talk) 02:54, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

Should we have this page deleted? Other than not being /tg/ related, it doesn't have anything linking to it either or usage in homebrews or campaigns. Furthermore, if we were to have a page about the Fate series, wouldn't it be better to just have it in one "Fate (Series)" or "Fate/Stay Night" page? ValkyrieSkies (talk) 23:37, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

I think we can have it deleted. Nobody'll miss it. --Newerfag (talk) 01:18, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
I doubt it'll be missed, though it does have more relevance then other pages like Wakfu, and I like Wakfu. -- Triacom (talk) 01:51, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
I think a case can be made for Wakfu in that the page encompasses the series as a whole and the game itself does play like a trad RPG, and when it came out in English it did grab a lot of attention on /tg/ at least. In this case however, I don't think a spinoff of a series needs its own page. ValkyrieSkies (talk) 01:59, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
1d4chan's supposed to be about tabletop/board games, the only reason that page is the way it is, is because nobody wants to downgrade it to just the boardgame despite 90% of the page being irrelevant to the wiki. -- Triacom (talk) 16:32, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
In Wakfu's case, one could make a tenuous justification that since it has elves (which are /tg/ related) under a different name, it must therefore be related to /tg/ in its entirety. I never quite bought into that line of thought but at least from my end there is nothing to be done about it. Plus, the people who make such pages tend to be passionate enough about the series the pages cover to the point where they forget to keep it strictly to the parts /tg/ might care about. Being susceptible to flavor-of-the-month stuff does not help either.--Newerfag (talk) 16:40, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
In that case they could have put mention under the elves page, though I'm just using Wakfu as an example of something getting ots own page/expanded in ways it probably shouldn't have been and pointing out that this page is actually more relevant. -- Triacom (talk) 23:40, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
Again though I'd argue that the Wakfu page holds its place much better in that it's at least a series encompassing page, while this is just a page about a spinoff of a series. I don't have a problem with Fate/Zero being on the wiki, but it should be part of a page with information on the series as a whole (provided there's a /tg/ reason for it to exist in the first place). ValkyrieSkies (talk) 23:57, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
But that's the problem: we DON'T need to know about the series as a whole, just the parts relevant to /tg/, if any. Look at the Firefly board game page- that's how it should be done. Instead of blathering about the entire series, it focuses on the /tg/ relevant part and nothing more. If only all other pages were that focused. --Newerfag (talk) 00:02, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
It's been a candidate for favourite /tg/ Anime for a while, and it definitely fits there pretty well (The creator of Fate does a lot of RPGs and they clearly influence what he does). I don't think it needs a seperate page though, just finally gets added to the approved Anime page. --Ahriman's Aide (talk) 00:04, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
Newerfag summed it up pefectly. Until the series becomes relevant to anything /tg/ on this wiki we need no page for it, and even then if it does become relevant all it will need is a quick summary of the series before jumping right onto how it relates to /tg/. ValkyrieSkies (talk) 00:17, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
Honestly what needs to be done is get a tabletop RPG made out of this to be honest. It has the makings of it with how each spirit has stats and abilities. I do know there is a cardgame out there about it. 22:52, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

I did some heavy editing.[edit]

BL regular here. If you want me to source any claim/fluffpiece in there, I can do that. Also asked some other TM people to re-check it for me, since it's been missing quite a lot of stuff. -- Ratman (talk) 03:44, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
