This isn't a D&D original monster, it's an existing public domain one. It's literally Buer's illustration from the Dictionnaire Infernal. Remember demons are fallen angels and the way the Bible describes angels is really weird. --Agiletek (talk) 07:33, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

I disagree with the apparent consensus opinion that this D&D monster is stupid. I mean really, how serious is D&D as a game anyhow? Why can't we have some ridiculous monsters with all the demons and Illithids, hmm? - Anonymous

  • You do have a point though there is a reason why this monster gets picked on. A lot of the really silly or stupid monsters in D&D are accepted because they have existed since the beginning or close to the beginning of the game and so they are protected by nostalgia. Even if those monsters get made fun of, people still want them in the game because the it wouldn't be the same without them. This monster is relatively more new and so doesn't have the same protection. However, I actually think that this monster might actually be too silly even compared to some of those other monsters and probably wouldn't have been popular even if had appeared in early editions, though I could be wrong about that.--2602:306:B88B:FB60:7483:6106:5132:9BF0 04:16, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
