Talk:Servitor Bot
I don't know who does the upkeep on this bot ... but back in ... 0.9c, I believe, you could set the line width to the full width that IRC would allow and it wouldn't cut quotes into several messages. Is there any way to get that functionality back?
- You can set up the length of a single message in the bot's settings. Just set a suitably large value there (it's in pixels, mind you). The real problem is - the component I am using for IRC cuts any messages longer than 255 symbols to 255 precisely. To avoid that problem, I added the line-breaking. I know it's an ugly option, but the only alternative it changing the core component and rewriting most of the code, sorry.
- See, when I change that setting, it doesn't seem to do anything at all. I set it low, it doesn't change, I set it high, it doesn't change. I'd be totally fine with figuring out how many pixels are 255 symbols and setting it to that, which is what I believe I did with 0.9c, but the line length setting doesn't seem to be doing anything. I seem to be able to get about 120 symbols with a line length of 1 or 32000. 3200 is the maximum setting the bot allows.
- I'll look into it.
- Aha, seems like an error resulting from moving all those settings to a separate window. Here's a dev build, could you please try it and make sure it's ok? I'm behind a proxy now, and Servitor can't bypass those things, so I can't test him.
- Will do! Having a little trouble with too many people at Rapidshare, but I'll get it tested today provided I get it.
- It works! Thanks a lot!
- You are welcome. Feel free to report bugs, suggest features etc, I am always open for feedback.
- Hi, I don't know how old this discussion is, but is there any way to edit the ,srtest feature to hit on 4/5/6 instead of just 5/6? Anniversary edition suggests it for more cinematic play, and my group has taken to it nicely.
- Er, hello, bit of a bug here. The exalted roll (ex) seems to not pick up any numbers after the specific roll, and instead just tells me to go ahead and pick a number between 1-100; for example, ,ex 3 would earn the response: please make sure the dice pool size is specified correctly. Must be a number between 1 and 100. Just wondering if this is a mistake in the coding.

Download Links[edit]
Every single download link on that Multiupload page is dead. Half of them have gone into "no sharing mode," and the others cite a case of either the uploader removing it or it being against copyright some how. Alternative download links or a reupload for this fine bot would be greatly appreciated. [Accurate as of 23 Jan 2012 16:38 GMT]
- I hear you. It will take me a moment to find the most recent version, it's been a rocky ride for me lately.
- Good news! The fileserv link is working again. Delicious dicebot is back in action. [27 Jan 20:20 GMT]
- Download link broke again (November 4 2016)

Discord version?[edit]
Anybody know if there's a way to make this work with Discord?
IRC and Discord do not use the same protocol, and using the Discord bots API is (or at least I figure it is) quite different from making an IRC bot.
So, no. --Eldy (talk) 14:39, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
