Talk:Tarellian
So crunch-wise they are basically Ork boys +1I -1WS (largely compensate each other), AP4 close combat weapons (nice, but not that useful in 3+ meta), fearless (have its cons and pros against orky way of krumpin' heads) and much worse Nob (no claw option). Yet they cost almost witce as musch points wise (10 to boys 6). Am I missing someyhing that makes tham good? Mezmerro (talk) 18:26, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
Well I'll admit that I don't know the first thing about points, I pretty much just put them down arbitrarily, after looking at my Tau codex as a Reference, and I've only fought against 2 people, both of whom use either Tyranids, or IG, so that makes the Tarellian blanket Hatred/PE (Nids/Imperium) more useful to me, and thusly more expensive in my head. Plus they're Tau Auxillaries, so they're normally supposed to show up with Tau support. You know Markerlights, Railguns, Longer Range support as they grind into Close Quarters, that sort of thing. - The issue with a bump to I is that you're still going last after most factions, tying with guard, and beating Orks/Necrons in order, so it's not quite as beneficial as the 1 WS they're losing. I'd eyeball them at about 8 points, thanks to hatred against about half the factions in the game and the situational benefit of AP4 on CC attacks.--Boss Ballkrusha (talk) 19:42, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks, made the change, once I get the Kit Bash done, I'll see how they fair up against in a 500 pointer against IG, Tyranids, Orks, Daemons and GK Groggarioth (talk) 21:16, 14th July 2014
