Talk:Temple Tendency

From 1d4chan

I took out the sentence complaining about the Ordo Hereticus and the Eccelsiarchys failure to get rid of the heretics. It makes sense for the branches to have difficulty getting rid of the heretics because they don't want a system wide conflict with 'heretics' who are still serving the Imperium. Sure the motherfuckers aren't following the accepted religion, but they aren't sucking rotten dick and shoving swords down peoples throats for chaos...

Not true. They're still heretics for not accepting the supremacy of the Ecclesiarchy- the reason that they haven't been wiped out is because unlike Chaos, they understand the concepts of "subtlety" and "not making your allegiance blatantly obvious". The Ordo Hereticus would love to wipe them out, but they don't know where to look- they may not even realize how much of a threat the Temple Tendency is.--Newerfag (talk) 02:28, 15 October 2013 (UTC)

Dawn of War: Soulstorm Sisters of Battle: Possible TT conspirators?[edit]

In Soulstorm, Canoness Selena Agna and Confessor Treganum March's reasons for leading the Order of the Sacred Rose to attack the superhuman thieves and 252nd Kauravan Conservators was they refused to cede authority of their forces to them. If I'm not mistaken, the forces of the Ecclesiarchy do not have the authority to commandeer forces of the Astra Militarum or the Adeptus Astartes (nobody does). They didn't have an Inquisitor or anything to justify this, so it's very possible that this was an ill-fated power grab. I know that I should take Soulstorm's rushed Risk-style campaign with a grain of salt, but I think this would explain the bad representation the Sisters of Battle got in the only Dawn of War game they were in. It's also ironic since it was an order that is supposed to be calm and rational thinking, instead of a more fitting order like the Ebon Chalice KommissarReb (talk) 19:29, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

I assume the order was picked more or less at random. And from the flavor text, it seems that they blamed the Guard for allowing the situation in Kaurava to happen in the first place- the way they saw it, if the Imperial Guard hadn't been corrupt somehow then the Warp storm wouldn't have shown up. Also, the DH book in which the Temple Tendency was introduced was written after Soulstorm was out, so any connection is likely to be a coincidence. --Newerfag (talk) 20:15, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
