Since when? That isn't in any 3e source books I've seen.

Again, since when? 3e only mentions a spear (ANY spear, not a specific one with its own name). If that's a 5e thing, then the favored weapons should be split up between the editions.

While that's similar to what Trithereon is stated to believe, it's also a lot more specific than what's actually presented.
