Contender for 10/10?[edit]

attractive to bots[edit]

The section 'How Not to be Trolled' has been getting wiped out by visitors with random IP addresses, replaced with "I like your blog!" or other meaningless messages. Maybe the URL is in some scriptkiddie tool default settings? --NotBrandX (talk) 16:21, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

I know that with most wikis administrators can lock pages. Is it possible for the administration to lock a section, but not the rest of the page? (I'm guessing "no", but just putting the idea out there)--Emerald Claw (talk) 07:10, 19 May 2015 (UTC)

The horribleness of trolls[edit]

I'm tempted to expand this article to show some of the moral event horizons that trolls have crossed such as driving someone to suicide and then taunting their family about it, or the absurd lengths they are willing to go just to torment people. I'm asking here first because I don't want to waste time just to have the edit reverted. ilniaj

Everyone knows trolls are bad and all that. We don't need examples telling us what we already know. --Newerfag (talk) 06:44, 29 December 2014 (UTC)

What I meant is that this page mostly talks about benign trolls who are more annoying than dangerous but there are malevolent trolls who have done incredibly heinous things for amusement such as impersonating a women in order to trick a bystander into raping her, financially devastating people or laughing after driving someone to suicide.--Cryptek Szerasp (talk) 00:26, 23 June 2016 (UTC)

Page separation?[edit]

So, most of this page is spent talking about internet trolls, with relatively little spent on the monster. Maybe we should split this page up to put them on separate pages?--QuietBrowser (talk) 03:30, 14 August 2019 (UTC)

There's enough variant trolls in D&D and PF to fill in the page more. The two are related enough I'm reluctant to split. --Agiletek (talk) 07:12, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
I was suggesting make a Trolls (Internet) or Trolling page to address the real-world phenomena, then expand on the various game strains of trolls on THIS page so we have fleshed out D&D trolls segment and PF trolls segment and Warhammer trolls segment and Shadowrun trolls segment and Troll MGs segment. Instead of shoving together two things that share a name in common and nothing else.--QuietBrowser (talk) 07:55, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
