Tyberos Strength[edit]

Does Tyberos' attack at strength 9 or 10? His aura add's one to his strength and Hunger adds x2. So do you times his natural strength or the modified one.--Elan (talk) 09:43, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

He's S10 with Hunger and S5 with Slake. The +1S from his aura increases his base stat from 4 to 5, and the weapon doubles his improved stat to 10. Also applies to any other units he buffs (eg CARCHARODONS dreadnoughts, which go from S12 to S14 with their CCW). --PercussiveMaintenance (talk) 02:06, 15 July 2017 (UTC)

Or you could follow the rulebook page 175, which says that when modifying characteristics you should apply any multiplication or division before applying any addition or subtraction, so following the rule he would be (2x4)+1 = 9. --Dark Angel 2020 (talk) 08:04, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
The bit right next to it in the main body text about Strength makes an exception for the modifiers from melee weapons - they're applied to the model's "current Strength characteristic", which for Tyby and pals is 5 whenever they're on the table. He's only S4 when he isn't deployed, or when his aura is suppressed. Other modifiers all stack in a single calculation with multiply/divide before add/subtract, but melee weapon modifiers are applied dynamically for those specific attacks using the weapon in question after everything else. --PercussiveMaintenance (talk) 23:24, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
