Talk:WARMACHINE

From 1d4chan

Herp herp. Been spending some time trying to clean up various Warmahordes strategy pages (though I honestly doubt anyone noticed the mass anon editing I was doing), figured I'd merge the two game pages since they're functionally the same thing and the Hordes shit wasn't getting updated on its own anyway. Easier to keep track of like this. Also turned the Hordes page into a redirect, since it is now superfluous. Will continue cleanup efforts whenever I get a chance. This shit is shameful. Open to discussion if anyone thinks Hordes needs its own page, though. Eulogy (talk) 09:52, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

Then you'll have to rename it Iron Kingdoms. - Ben (talk) 15:24, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

I would actually rename it to Warmahordes, if anything. Iron Kingdoms isn't just the name of the setting - it's a separate game in its own right. A tabletop RPG, rather than a war game. Eulogy (talk) 19:22, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

I think the article should be renamed to Warmachine & Hordes, and having Warmachine and Hordes redirect to it. Warmahordes isn't the proper name for the game, so it shouldn't be the title of the article. Instead, mention it's usually called Warmahordes in the opening paragraph.

I guess WARMACHINE is the proper name, but gods that looks gay. - Kasdaye 00:29, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, that's another reason we hate Skubmachine. Not as bad as page 5 though. - Ahri 00:30, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Holy hell, I thought that image was a mock-up. I'll move this back to WARMACHINE then - Kasdaye 00:35, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, the only bits that aren't in the original rulebook are the bits in red. - Ahri 00:47, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Lol, Topplenaughts. - Aristrofl 20:08, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Holy crap, I fixed the egregious grammatical errors in the last edit. Whoever did that needs to not edit anything until he understands the English language, the use of "they're their and there."

Who the fuck lets a butthurted fanboy vomit into the article?

This article is pretty out of date. It should probably be rewritten, preferably by someone who doesn't feel threatened by the existence of a popular miniature game that's not Warhammer.

This article got shit all over with seriousness and isn't remotely funny anymore. Where the hell did the advert image go, for starters, and why did the bulk of it get rewritten so humorlessly?

  • Honestly? Because the original wasn't all that funny unless you were the sort of butthurt 40k fag who hates Warmachine unmercifully for having the balls to not be Warhammer... No offense. Though, I do agree that this page could use a humor transfusion...
  • Warmahordes ain't popular.
  • Warhammer ain't popular.
  • Except that it is.

Well, I've started making edits. What say we overhaul/expand Warmahordes articles? - RogueVector

  • Yep, I'll help. I think tactica pages and pages for the main factions are called for, which I'll start adding. Also, for the LOVE OF GOD can we change it to Warmachine? Nobody calls it WARMACHINE. Dok (talk)
    • I say if you know how to, go for it. I think getting up an article about Warjacks, Warcasters and the factions would be a nice start, to build up fluff before diving into the crunch. - RogueVector
      • Eh, I only play Protectorate, so I don't actually know much about other factions. I can at least format the tactica pages, though. I agree that Warjack and Warcaster pages would be nice. I"ll set up the stubs now, but I don't have the time or inclination to do much right now. Dok (talk)
        • Okay, life got busy for a bit. I'm making edits to the main page, so please hold fire on it while I type up everything. EDIT: Also, do we really need to have tactica? Just point 'em at the BattleCollege faction articles in the faction pages on 1d4chan, since they've done a lot of that work already.
          • True, but BattleCollege has built up a lot of cruft over the years (the common refrain given to new players is "Battle College is okay if you're just starting out, but..." followed up commentary on the shaky tactical insight or faulty interpretation of the rules). Some tactica pages that are relatively off the beaten path might wind up being better in the long run than a wiki that every PP forum derp knows about and poops in whenever they feel the need to tell the world how awesome they think Proteus is. At minimum it's be nice to have some /tg/-related wiki pages to point people to for the inevitable "WHAT IS THE FLUFF", "WHAT FACTION IS THE GOODEREST" and "HOW DO I SHOT LIST" questions that fill the better part of a Warmahordes thread.--Chozo (talk) 02:32, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
            • Yes, and I hope to turn 1d4chan into a legitimate resource for tactics, for 40k, Fantasy, and Warmachine (and, hell, Flames of War, Infinity, and other minor games would be nice too, but I don't play any of those). Plus, as Chozo noted, it would be nice to just have a page for all those basic questions. Dok (talk)******* Honestly Battle College isnt as good as the articles on the forum for PP. A good /tg/ guide is a must however

We need Warmahordes strategy pages.

  • Set one up here. Decided to follow the basic setup for the Warhammer tactics articles for now, because why fix what isn't broken? Unless anyone has a better idea, decided to split up the sections for each game since it'll probably be easier to find using each individual system's name rather than the portmanteau. --Chozo (talk) 05:27, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

...Sooooo... MK III in the works, with lots of leaked details. Should we just wait for it to come out before modding anything? --SpectralTime (talk) 20:07, 3 May 2016 (UTC)
