Talk:Warhammer/Tactics/8th Edition/Dark Elves

From 1d4chan

Hey, lads? You want to write the tactical guide, go ahead, be my guest, I admit I tend to lean casual environment and I always welcome dissent. But actually write it, don't just go "This tactical guide sucks." It doesn't add anything. --Jemas42 18:58, 13 January 2013

Actually, now I've gone through your additions, I have to say something else: I welcome dissent, but you need to learn about unit synergy. Like, 3 units of 20 Black Guard, which, with full command, round out at 865 points, without any magic banners or items. Now, pray tell, how do you reconcile that with your Cold One Cavalry unit, which won't fit in a 2k army with those Black Guard? Or hey, how about the point where you suggest spending 345 points on a Cold One Cavalry unit (Knights, plus BSB, plus Hydra Banner), in 8th edition, where cavalry got hit by the nerfstick? Or where you suggest dropping the ASF banner on Executioners, despite the fact that they're capped at a 25 point magic banner and it costs 35 points so therefore they need a BSB... Wait, you suggested putting the BSB on the Cauldron (terrible idea, it's a giant 'come kill this unit for massive points' signal, especially since any real powerful attack will knock them out) and you also suggest giving it to the Executioners and to the CoK...so what, you want 3 BSBs?

Bottom line, your suggestions are poorly worded, contradictory and in a lot of cases just plain bad in a tournament setting, or even casual (oh look, you spent 800 points on Black Guard, plus 225 on a cauldron BSB, plus another 350 on Hydras, all of which rounds out, with 500 minimum core, to 1940 points. I hope you can live without magic, or tactical flexibility...and you accuse me of never having played Dark Elves). Get your shit together, and then you can try editing this page again. --Jemas42 20:20, 13 January 2012
