Talk:Warhammer 40,000/6th Edition Tactics/Imperial Guard

From 1d4chan

I have been writing parts of it here and there. Thanks for editing it, I didnt have my book with me. And I just wanted to get some text in there. IG has so much shit to cover. -smoker.

Someone wanks to close-combat meltaspam, I see. Also, what kind of a man are you for hating on the Basilisk?! --Gufu 22:50, 25 March 2012 (BST)

Great Page! Enjoyed reading it! Thanks! B

Edit War - Conscripts[edit]

So it looks like we've got an edit war going on in the Conscripts section. I would try and smooth it out, but that might just make it worse and encourage more strikethroughs revisions. Can we agree here what the correct numbers are, and then set it down in the article once everyone's on the same page? --Dr. Thompson 15:22, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

  • Correct numbers are in core rulebook - models with WS2 hit WS1 on 3+, WS2-4 on 4+ and WS5-10 on 5+. Priest is still e must for conscript blob - 4+ is only 4+, rerolls are great
    • I thought that doubled WS already includes 5+. Very well then, the rulebook's say goes.--Gufu 03:52, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
      • Rule for 5+ is "more then double", not "double"

unholy rape machine[edit]

I changed the "unholy" to "holy" when it mentions Imperator Class Titan. I mean the thing has a cathedral dedicated to, praise His name (whatever it may be), the God-Emperor of Mankind on it! But then someone changed it back without the decency to say why in the summary. Could someone tell me why it was changed back to "unholy"?

  • Because it's broken as hell even though it costs like two non-apocalypse armies. I once test-fought in Vassal one Imperator + two paltoons list vs Tau, and it just RAPED them eleven different ways and all their railgins havent even dropped it's shields, and Fusion blasters dropped nly one SP before Crysis cuits got stomped in melee. When something is THAT broken it is definatelly meet the defifnition of Unholly.
  • Unholy rape machine generally has a nicer ring to it. "Holy rape" stands on dodgy theological ground both in the real world and the imperium.

Militarium Tempestus[edit]

Should we add Militarium Tempestus here as a "Supplement", or as a separate army? It has its own codex, after all, but the units are the same as IG/AM.

  • With the same justification for Legion of the Damned not having its own tactis article. It's currently a supplement / seperate detachment in the Codex: Space Marine tactics article which I stole the format from. LotD is an army of its own only by a technicality, but consists of the same units in that Codex. I wouldn't expect much growth from GW on this army, so having its own tactica article would just leave it to stagnate, --Dark Angel 2020 (talk) 16:47, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

Stormsword[edit]

Uh, just wanted to point out that the whole 'can't physically miss the target' doesn't make sense, since the blast is 10" in diameter, not radius. i.e. - Rolling above 5" + the size of the model's base + 3 (For BS reduction) would be a miss; 10+ or so wouldn't hit the original target unless it had a fairly large base.
