Talk:Warhammer 40,000/6th Edition Tactics/Necrons

From 1d4chan

Ok guys, I know I failed to update the army building section, but I felt it did a good enough job for now. With 6th ed out and about things have changed but not so much for the Necrons. After all they were written with 6th ed in mind, so most of their new stuff is for their benefit. Now I haven't played 6th ed yet on account of being away overseas, which makes me extremely sad. So from what I know I'll add onto the unit analysis, but a major revamp will have to wait until August unless someone beats me to the punch.

I'll change some things, but nothing major since I'm not acquainted with 6th ed thoroughly.

Okay, so edit warring on this page is just getting stupid. Guys, if something is wrong, just erase it, don't put up a sentence to contradict the previous one. We want an informative tactica here. And as far as the Power Sword thing goes, why not just wait for an faq instead of arguing now?

The Lychguards 'Power Weapon' is now classified as a Power Sword :) Although am i the only one that thought that they were holding swords anyways :') DarkIronCrown

Will write a section on C'Tan powers/suggested trolling strategies over the next week.

  • It appears an anonymous user just tried to blank the page bit-by-bit. I've undone his revisions. --Dr. Thompson 02:53, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

Where's this thing about skimmers acting like Drop Pods coming from? I can't find anything in the rulebook or FAQs, can't tell if it's just wishful thinking or not NEVER MIND I FOUND IT.

Can you provide a page/faq ref. please? I've had this contradicted by TOs and Local gaming groups a few times now. Deep Striking is not moving, and "can't be deployed" is not the same as "ending your move over". That is why the vehicle "counts as moving" because it didn't actually move.

Dark Harvest[edit]

I know that a lot is the same, but having The Dark Harvest army on this page as well just makes it unseemly, and there some important differences. To that end, I'll be creating a seperate Tactica page for that army list later tonight. so when that section disappears from this page, don't panic.

    • HOLD UP: it's no different from a supplement that we have been putting on the same page as the primary dex as well (like supplement black legion), i say it stays here and we count it as a 'early forge world supplement.

Edits here and there[edit]

I have made light edits here and there (See Harbingers of Despair and Ghost Ark or my contributions); hope the Admins or yourselves don't mind :)

Also according to the new Apoc book, apparently Super-Heavies are now immune to anything that lowers their armour value so now Entropic Strike no longer works on Titans :( Gauss and Haywire still apply though

A thoughts occurred; with regards to the Mathhammer about the Land-Raider vs 20 Necron Warriors; assuming if at least half of the Warriors was in Rapid Fire range then that'd be 10 extra shots which would then be 30 shots, would they then be able to topple a Land-Raider? - DarkIronCrown17

  • Assuming LR have no cover save, average damage would be: 30×(4/6)×(1/6)= 3.33 HP Mezmerro (talk) 14:57, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
  • Alright so thats the basic mathhammer :) Lets assume once more that a Triarch Stalker, equipped with a Twin-Linked Heavy Gauss Cannon, manages to land a hit, but doesn't damage it for whatever reason*; would the 20 Warriors be able to deal glance the LR to death due to the combination of Gauss and Twin-Linked?

*it has passed its cover save and would be still entitled to a cover save - DarkIronCrown17

    • It would be 30×((4/6)+((2/6)*(4/6)))×(1/6)= 4.44
    • Srsly, man, learn a bit of math about chances, it's pretty simpe at basis level. Mezmerro (talk) 18:41, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
    • Sadly I am certainly no expert on mathhammer, however these questions are for a small report I am writing so your contributions are really helpful :) - DarkIronCrown17

Allies[edit]

We're in need of an allies section on here. No one freak out if I dump a steaming pile of allies info on here soon.
