Abyssal[edit]
Resistance[edit]
| Death Doesn't Die |
|---|
Cost: — (+1wp); Mins: Resistance 5, Essence 4 Type: Permanent Keywords: None Duration: Permanent Prerequisite Charms: Cadaverous Torpor Technique, Wounds Mean Nothing
|
|
This Charm is a permanent upgrade for Cadaverous Torpor Technique. When the Abyssal uses Wounds Mean Nothing to perfectly defend against the damage from an attack that would otherwise reduce him to Incapacitated status or kill him, he may spend one point of temporary Willpower to reflexively activate Cadaverous Torpor Technique. To all appearances, the Abyssal seems to "die", taking apparent damage in the same manner as Wounds Mean Nothing normally operates; when he uses Cadaverous Torpor Technique to awaken, he "heals" all the damage he took. If the damage perfectly defended against with Wounds Mean Nothing splits the Abyssal's body into multiple pieces or otherwise severely damages it, that Abyssal's "actual" presence remains with the largest portion of his brain and spine. Appropriately large amounts of apparent damage can make it very difficult to locate where the Abyssal's center of identity lies, even using supernatural effects; in such cases, the Abyssal adds (Essence) in automatic successes (stacking with those provided by Cadaverous Torpor Technique) to any relevant opposed rolls. |
| Dead Ringer |
|---|
Cost: —; Mins: Resistance 5, Essence 3 Type: Permanent Keywords: None Duration: Permanent Prerequisite Charms: Cadaverous Torpor Technique
|
|
This Charm is a permanent upgrade for Cadaverous Torpor Technique. While under the effect of that Charm and not actually Incapacitated, the Abyssal remains cognizant and aware of his surroundings. He may perform any non-physical actions, though active use of Charms or other supernatural effects removes the (Essence) extra successes he gets on opposed rolls to seem dead to supernatural effects for the duration of the Charm or other effect he is using. He may reflexively awaken at any time and does not have to set a trigger in advance. |
Performance[edit]
| Melancholia Legion Methodology |
|---|
Cost: X; Mins: Performance 5, Essence 3 Type: Simple (Speed 6) Keywords: Combo-Basic, Illusion, Mirror (some appropriate name for a Solar version), Obvious Duration: One scene Prerequisite Charms: Withering Phantasmagoria
|
|
The Abyssal can use Performance instead of War for all purposes in mass combat, including as the limiting Ability for other combat Abilities. When performing an attack in mass combat, the Abyssal may choose to attempt an opposed Performance roll as a non-Charm Reflexive action. If the Abyssal wins this opposed roll, the attack does additional points of automatic damage equal to the Abyssal's Performance dots if the attack succeeds; however, if the Abyssal fails on the opposed roll, the attack does no damage whether or not it succeeds. |
Presence[edit]
| I Am Your Father Prana |
|---|
Cost: 6m; Mins: Presence 3, Essence 2 Type: Simple (Speed 6 in short ticks, DV -2) Keywords: Combo-Basic, Compulsion, Mirror (some appropriate name for a Solar version), Social Duration: (Threshold successes) short ticks Prerequisite Charms: Any Presence Excellency
|
|
The Abyssal makes a social attack (which occurs on the short tick timescale) in which his player rolls ([Charisma or Manipulation] + Presence) against the target's Dodge MDV. If the Abyssal succeeds, his target becomes Inactive for (threshold successes) short ticks. This is an unnatural Compulsion effect, costing one Willpower point to resist; if resisted, this Charm's duration ends. New Solar Charm: some appropriate name for a Solar version (Prerequisites: any Presence Excellency). This Charm functions identically to its Abyssal Mirror. |

At any time when the Solar's single Charm activation per action has already been used, the Solar may as a non-Charm reflexive action pay six motes of Essence and two points of Willpower to retroactively declare a Combo involving any Combo-Basic or Combo-OK Charm already activated along with a single Charm picked with [untitled combo fix solar charm.txt]. (It must be a valid Combo.) To add additional Charms to this post-hoc Combo, the Solar may also activate [untitled combo fix solar charm.txt] at its normal price. |
Lunar[edit]
Appearance[edit]
| Soul-Gripping Nudity |
|---|
Cost: — ([+2m, 1wp] or [+4m, 2wp]); Mins: Appearance 5, Essence 4 Type: Permanent Keywords: Obvious Duration: Permanent Prerequisite Charms: New Friend Aroma, Perfect Symmetry
|
|
This Charm permanently enhances New Friend Aroma. To use Soul-Gripping Nudity, the character must appear before the individual she is meeting nude—weapons and jewelry are acceptable, as are other decorative elements meant to tease and tantalize, but any clothing, armor, fur, or other accoutrements must be transparent, partial, or otherwise lightly-covering enough that the individual being affected can easily make out all the details of the character's body without impediment. (This Charm is also dependent on the target having functioning sight or an equivalent sense.) By paying an additional 2 motes of Essence (5 total) and 1 point of temporary Willpower while filling these conditions, the character may cement the formed Intimacy in place, extending its duration to permanent instead of one scene. The Willpower cost to suppress it is 1wp per scene, with the Intimacy permanently vanishing after three scenes of being suppressed. By instead paying an additional 4 motes of Essence (7 total) and 2 points of temporary Willpower while filling these conditions, the Intimacy is cemented in place, and the Intimacy vanishes only after five scenes of being suppressed. While not suppressed during a scene, the Intimacy halves the individual's MDV against social attacks by the character, but only during those scenes that the character remains nude. This effect lasts even if the Intimacy is made more permanent by natural or other mental influence. |
