It's something of an irony, even in Yu-Shan, when a god ends up made into a starmetal artifact that reflects its previously-held domain—and this pair of boots and pair of gauntlets are no exception. Once upon a time, Thunders of Scarlet Impact was the god of smashfists and god-kicking boots—and then he was censured for, on a particularly bad day, punching an annoying censor right in the face.

The Thunders of Scarlet Impact function similar to a matched set of smashfists and god-kicking boots, with no offhand penalties when all four items of the set are wielded together. They are made entirely out of the supply of starmetal procured from the original Thunders of Scarlet Impact, with meticulously segmented plates and sections all made to precisely fit the wearer. When worn and attuned, they fit perfectly to the wearer and become supremely comfortable. The gauntlets allow the wearer full manual dexterity despite their slight bulk, and the boots are more comfortable than even perfected boots—though those who have never worn the Thunders of Scarlet Impact wouldn't know the difference. (It has been occasionally rumored that the original design of perfected boots came from a copy by a past owner of the Thunders of Scarlet Impact, who had never managed to be happy with mundane footwear after losing them.) In combat, the wearer adds four yards per tick to all move actions and eight yards per tick to dash actions; when walking long distances, the wearer can march at a speed of 15 miles per hour and cover up to 150 miles in a day. In addition, the wearer adds three to her Strength when calculating jumping distances (adding to Strength before any multiplication effects).

Uniquely, the Thunders of Scarlet Impact have the ability to attack the lines of fate bound to everything around the wielder. This functions as normal attacks that do aggravated damage but leave no physical marks; enemies know they are wounded and are pained just as much by it by normal attacks, even though they never bleed or even get a bruise. As well, every attack against an inanimate object that is not made of a magical material (or comparably invulnerable) permanently reduces all the object's soak values by one-half the pre-soak damage of the attack (round up, to a minimum of 0 soak). Attacks against characters wearing non-indestructible armor likewise permanently reduce the armor's soak values, destroying any armor reduced to 0/0 soak. Any object destroyed with the Thunders of Scarlet Impact instantly vanishes as if it never existed in the first place, its past neatly rewriting so that anyone with lower Essence than the Thunders' wielder forgets about the object, their memories patching over with consistent and plausible replacements for its presence. (They can spend 1 point of Willpower to negate this effect for a scene, if they have some reason to, and it is broken for them completely once they have spent points of Willpower equal to the permanent Essence of Thunders' wielder.) The Thunders allow their wearer to parry lethal and ranged attacks without a stunt, and if the wearer fully parries a non-magical weapon (eg. the Parry DV cancels all attack successes), the weapon vanishes as if it had been destroyed.

The Thunders of Scarlet Impact provide the normal starmetal magical material bonus, which is already included in their statistics lines. They include two hearthstone settings, and cost 15 motes to attune to as a full set.
