I'm getting old.

Started playing with the old Basic D&D red box. Branched out all over since then. Took part in a lot of the stupid debates back in the early 90's on old dial-up BBS's; back when the old WoD, Amber, Ars Magica and the like started the whole "Role-Playing vs. Roll-Playing" debate, smug assholes took shits on "T$R," rumors and horror stories were pass around about every big name designer, and just a bunch of other asinine crap that in retrospect looks incredibly pretentious and worthy of facepunching.

Used to run a lot of Shadowrun back in the day. Played quite a bit of mixed old WoD, Rifts, AD&D, Space 1889, BESM, Marvel Super Heroes, DC Heroes and plenty more.

Haven't done any actual role-playing in some time since my last group was a collection of That Guys. Memories of that collection of social mutants has soured any attempts to get into another group. That, and figuring out the time and so on.

I do play some 40k; been collecting Blood Angels since 2nd (just before 3rd came out) along with generic Tau.

Things I've Contributed to /tg/[edit]

1st Membranes: I was the one who suggested the origins of a crashed Black Ship and suggested the uniforms. I'm so proud.

Hell Harlots: I didn't roll the dice, but I filled in the blanks by writing a lot of the original fluff.

Pages I've Made for 1d4chan[edit]

Waiting For Godot: 40k Edition - Didn't write the story, but it was too good to not be saved here.

Murder hobos - Was surprised that this wasn't here to begin with, considering how often the term gets thrown around.

Judge Dredd - /tg/ Loves Judge Dredd. He deserved a page.

List of /tg/ Characters - Figured we could use an index of all the crazy characters the board has put forth. Hell, they're making their way into official products now.

A personal story[edit]

I have an older stepbrother who also did plenty of gaming, and he started way back in the glory days of the pink box. However, a lifetime of neurological issues took their toll over the years, which then lead to a massive stroke that has left him mute, wheelchair bound and in assisted living for the rest of his foreseeable life. When my parents cleaned up the old house to put in on the market, I was given what was left of his collection. That is, what he didn't end up trading or selling over the years. Among that was his dice, which still had the old worn-down crayon dice among them. I know I could never use them, and he was of the old-school protective type when it came to them. I bought a glass box to put them in, and sealed it with an old lead mini that I melted down. The box sits on a shelf in my living room, a somber reminder of what once was. I only hold on to them for now, waiting to see what the future holds for my stepbrother.
