Anima Banner: A great swell rises behind Emerald Wave, blocking out the traitorous Sun and Stars. It smells of death, promising to wash the world clean of its sins.
Anima Effect: Emerald Wave may channel her anima through sweet words and honeyed promises, beguiling the weak with her silvered tongue. By spending five motes, she gains +1 Appearance, and adds a single automatic success on all social attacks against demons or characters of lower Essence for one scene. She also adds a single automatic success on any roll to sorcerously bind a demon. These effects come into play automatically once she spends 11+ motes of Peripheral Essence.

Background[edit]

Emerald Wave was born in RY 748 to the chieftain of the Uwimoa, a small, island-dwelling Western tribe of only a few hundred people. The Uwimoa were simple people whose only real export was diving for pearls. Emerald Wave grew up to be a beautiful young woman and next in line to inherit the chieftainship from her father. To learn about their trading partners and allies, she acted as an envoy, travelling around nearby islands and even taking shipments of pearls out to Wavecrest to trade for foreign goods.

While away on one of these voyages disaster befell her home. The Realm Navy engaged a group of pirates and their indiscriminate use of artillery devastated the island. The Realm Navy neither noticed nor cared about the carnage they had created. Emerald Wave returned to find her home a shelled-out ruin, with only a few of her people still alive to tell her about what had happened. Emerald Wave had never been enamoured with self-serving behaviour of the Terrestrial Exalted she had encountered in her travels, nor with their zealot priests who had harsh words about the Uwimoan practise of ancestor worship. Now Emerald Wave was literally left with nothing but her burning hatred for them.

One day on the long journey back to Wavecrest with the survivors she found a graceful, humanoid creature waiting in her room. It explained, simply enough that it was an envoy of the Primordials, who too had suffered at the hands of the Exalted, and would grant her the power to achieve her revenge if she agreed to help them in turn. In her all consuming hatred, Emerald Wave agreed. Following the spirit's instruction she dived off the rear of the boat with the demon, and it enclosed her to form her Chrysalis Grotesque. The Chrysalis sunk for five days into the endless depths of the Western Ocean while Emerald Wave fused with the demonic essence.

After the five days Emerald Wave had entered Hell and was spat out by Kimbery onto the shores of Malfeas. She crawled out from the split chrysalis, every aspect of her body enhanced by the transformation. Under the harsh Green Sun she was brought into the fold of the Infernal Exalted, taught of the Primordial War, and so much else that had been lost to Creation. Trained and armed, she was returned to Creation to fulfil the will of the Yozis... though she has different ideas.

Emerald Wave is a 6'2" Western woman of roughly 20 years. She has a sturdy and voluptuous build. Her tanned skin and verdant, green hair are not uncommon among the her people, but her vivid yellow-greeen eyes stand out. Her long hair is an unkempt mess, with individual strands shining in the light of Creation or Malfeas. She wears a two-piece bikini made of white gauze and decorated with multi-coloured beads and seashells. She forgoes shoes, preferring the feeling of sand through her toes or rock below her feet. There is a leather whip coiled around her taut stomach, the handle of it hanging off her hip. Every inch of her body from the neck down is covered in vibrant orange and yellow glyphs and tattoos. A sprawling tattoo of a jade lion covers most of her back, the eyes coloured fiery red.

All foraging rolls whose difficulty would be 4+ is 1 instead. Maximum penalty for hunger and thirst in a place of desolation cannot rise above -3. Her perfected metabolism no longer produces any waste. All mundane attempts to track her fail unless she allows it. Magical tracking suffers an external penalty equal to her (Essence). If she wishes, adds her (Essence) to the difficulty of Awareness rolls to notice her in places of physical desolation. (Page 121)
  • Stone-Flayer Touch: 1m or 1m+1wp, Supplemental, Combo-OK, Instant. Allows an instant duration action effect a dematerialized target. A god or demon injured by a so supplemented attack loses a number of motes equal to the number of health levels lost. If she is dematerialized and wishes to strike a material target, add 1wp.
