Concerning the button:

The mute button; a very common addition to various devices, both physical and virtual (from TV remotes to Twitter bios), the function of which entails providing a shortcut from 'noise' to 'no noise' instantly, rather than having to put in the minuscule amount of effort required to turn the volume down manually. So in summary, it's a very popular feature among lazy fa/tg/uys who either have sensitive hearing, or they're beating their meat off in a place they KNOW they shouldn't and don't want to draw too much attention to themselves through all the groaning of whatever heresy they're setting their eyes upon. This can backfire however, since the only audible noise remaining after such a mute-usage will typically be the rather gross sounds of a fa/tg/uy smashing their meat rod and running out of breath while doing so. Mmm, yes, let that image sink in (if that somehow turns you on, you're probably falling into the clutches of Slaanesh as we speak. Or read, in this case).

The mute button is also commonly used by 'progressives' on social media platforms trying to find a safe space after making a complete fool of themselves in front of a bunch of reasonable people who take joy in pointing out the flaws of poorly-constructed arguments and statements made by the aforementioned progressives.

Concerning the user:

Some idiot who spends far too much time on the internet in general, has serious commitment issues to productivity, and whose only contribution to this place is the occasional typo fix (so far, at least) to random 40k pages he stumbles across and bothers to read. So a not-so-vocal, xenos-sympathising grammar Nazi, basically. Probably thinks he's really witty, edgy and trendy for having a username like 'The Mute Button', the cuck.

He's not really a fan of Matt Ward's works concerning the Ultrasmurfs, or the works of C. S. Goto in general, so at least he has that going for him I guess. Then again, that's largely down to his favouritism of creepy, ravenous, arrogant, weeaboo-ish Xenos over the glorious Imperium of Man, so eh...
