Trump Solkan stuff

• So the other anon's explanation for removing that tired out joke has fixed the problem itself. If you wanna put this into a talk page and so you shall. IMO, just as you said, Trump will be damned if he did and damned if he doesn't. But this was a dilemma he has largely put himself in. Notwithstanding his juvenile antics and his foreign policy flip-flopping galore. If Trump was more proactive with the pandemic, didn't disband Obama's "How-to" Pandemic Response team and listened to the medical experts more often, he would not be in this pickle. To be fair, what happened to George Floyd was out of Trump's control, but at least he had the chance to calm the protests and riots by first, speaking about police reform (Even if just lip service), second, going down and meeting with the protestors and third, showing restraint. But unfortunately, he can't, because he boxed himself in on a platform on appearing 'strong and tough'. So what do we see? We saw Trump goading the American police (Already with a shaky reputation domestically mind you) by going international via beating the absolute shit out of journalists from Australia, Germany and Switzerland among others. By July, the protests and riots were already dying out and barely anyone was talking about it unless you're those committed to the cause on either camps. So why in the proverbial fuck did Trump thought it was a good idea to send in unidentified Feds in Portland that clearly escalated the situation. You stated that this was done because the Governors weren't doing their job. That's fine. But the problem is, that earlier on, in response to the Pandemic, Trump told the state governors that they are effectively on their own, states' rights and all that. Both the pandemic and social unrest constitutes a national emergency. So why is one crisis being left to the governors while another one requires a Federal response? The answer is simple. It is very hard to construct a narrative on an enemy that can't be seen, not so much if they are visible, however. I know what Trump is trying to stoke here and I know his political tactics. • There is also the aforementioned fact that the Feds were unmarked. You could excuse that they're unidentified because of 'doxing', but there is this thing called optics. Trump has been accused on the left as a Fascist for years now and sending in unmarked Feds shoving people in unmarked vans just build credibility on the left. Moreover, doing it in a largely white Portland is going to do wonders for the suburban voters who, mind you, prefer stability over all else especially in this discordant time. As I previously said, the key in dealing with a riot or protest is to wait them out. The State has all the resources and most importantly, time, to wait them out until protest fatigue sets in. All Trump had to do is wait, but as aforementioned, he fucked himself because of his platform. Either he ignores them and appear 'weak' to his base, or he goes all in 'LAW AND ORDER' which risks alienating the suburban moms and independents with that fuckstupid decision to use unidentified feds with unmarked vans. This mind you, is happening with an economic collapse that will make the Great Depression look like a cakewalk (Forget about a V-shape recovery, you lot a heading to a Nike-shape recovery at best) and a pandemic that is kicking the US in the proverbial ass because of that asinine decision to politicise a mask of all things. All of these crises did was expose the failure of the United States itself on every level of society. The government failed, the people failed and the institutions failed.
