Adding an existing category is simple: you place a link between double brackets as usual, except you put Category: in front of it. So instead of typing [[Tyranid]] you type [[Category:Tyranid]]. Make sure to check with the button Show Preview at the bottom of the page if you entered the category name correctly before submitting it, otherwise it won't work. Certain templates add in categories as well, so check those as well so that you won't enter a category double. This doesn't do something bad, but it's just a best practice to not have double entry of data. And finally, you can sign your comments on talk pages by entering ~~~~ at the end of your comment or pressing the Timestamp button at the top of the text box (second from the right). - Biggus Berrus (talk) 16:05, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the advise. --Alumno Alumno (talk) 16:16, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
How should I clean it up.
I apologize for the clutter, im new to editing wikis. Do you have any suggestions for cleaning up the Midhammer_40000_drafts Page?
- Well, the formatting per se is not bad in the drafts page (though it really should have gone into the discussion page of the original midhammer), the thing is you've basically written a ton of sugestions and proposals for a setting that doesn't have any ind of traction or discussion anymore, so suddenly adding a wall of text might not be the best way to incentivise discussion. You can just add the storytelling bits on the original page, that is not really a discussion/draft, there should be no problem in adding them to the main page. --Alumno Alumno (talk) 18:23, 19 March 2019 (UTC).
- Yeah, Putting it in the discussion page makes the most sense, but I didn't want to clutter that page with massive walls of text as well. What if i were type up summaries in the discussion page, and link it to the drafts? That way there is more information, but its not intruding on the discussion page. Thank you for the advice!
- I'm not an admin or a mod here, so I'm not sure how correct that would be, sorry. There are many pages branching out different subjects about the same setting, but having one page for discussion alone might not be adequate, considering that's the point of the discussion sub-page. --Alumno Alumno (talk) 19:08, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
Well looking at Nobledark Imperium, they seem to have created separate pages for everything, from discussions of the Primarchs, to a section where they talk about culture and TV programs. I dunno, would create a bunch of pages help spark interest in the setting or would i just be taking up space on the forum? Should I just work on my ideas for Sadhammer and create a new setting instead?
